Room: EB
Fly out to Paris. Flight 10 hours - long. Didn't sleep much due to uncomfortable seats. Sat next to a girl who was creepily pretty. Looked like Barbie. Realized that my mac doesn't run Flash and realized I forgot my physics homework. Got to Paris, flight delayed. Ate good ham & cheese sandwich. Sleep on flight to Nice. Man beside me had crying baby but his breath was worse. Arrived in Nice. Realized the in France there are A LOT of scooters and the traffic is insane. Went to the hotel - rooms small but comfortable. Dinner was nice. Return to hotel. Shower, sleep.

Room: EB
Wake up, dress, and eat breakfast. Good croissants. Go hunt for currency exchange places with Taylor Morrow, James, Danylik, Kiel, and EB. We utterly fail. Walk around with Mrs. Fredricks and exchange money. Get on bus and go up a hill and see a Franciscan monastery and ruins. Bow at Matisse's grave. Pretty garden. Get back on bus and go to another hill. View of Nice is bland, but impressive. Get back on bus and see World War memorial - amazing. Get off bus, go shop and have lunch with EB. Come back to hotel and head out to the castle gardens. Impressive waterfall and view. Head back to hotel - harassed by men, he grabbed my ass and I slapped him in return. Grab ice cream on way back to hotel. Sleep. Dinner - excellent dessert: cream puffs with a chocolate sauce. Grabbed Jacob, Zoe, and Allison and head to Monoprix for EB and her delicious sauces. Go back to hotel. Pack and sleep.

Room: Kara
Wake up at 2:30 AM with a headache and was too stupid to take painkillers until an hour later. Got up, washed, ate breakfast. Brought luggage down from room and got pastries from across the street. Head on the bus and start driving. Took a rest stop at a place with a hole in the ground that cleaned itself. Stop in Arles (sp?) and saw an awesome Church and Amphitheatre. Had lunch with EB and Jacob. More driving - finally arrive in Avignon. It's awesome but terribly terribly cold. Explored the papal palace and heard the remnants of Vocal Ensemble sing awesome sauce songs. Braved the maze of rooms at our hotel and realize that the hotel has free wifi. I download another version of Flash that actually works. Dinner was awesome with Vocal Ensemble singing again. Go back to the hotel where Tani furiously rapes my interbuts. I roomed with Kara Lowry. Sleep, and I start to get really sick.
Saturday March 31, 2007
Room: Tani
Wake up, agree that Kara will take the early shift, and fall back asleep. Awake again and shower and furiously start packing. Wolf down breakfast as EB rapes my computer and start packing again. Rush out to the bus where EB and I find that these two girls have already taken our designated "spots." We sit behind Jacob where I promptly fall asleep and during the bouts of consciousness realize that not listening to music in that part of the bus will make Kelly quite sick. Arrive at Carcasonne at 1 and are terribly hungry. EB and I go to La Taverne du Chateau, which everyone needs to go to. So delicious. Head back to the bus and drive some more. And more. Then a little more. Then got to Sarlat-la-Caneda and walked to dinner. Our table was awesome due to the fact that Peter decided to join us and mass gossiping ensued. Oh joy, so much drama and so much amusement. It was love. Then we walked back through the old streets and saw the amazing medieval architecture. Went back to the hotel and watched as everyone flocked to the pool and sauna. EB, Ali, and I just harassed Mr. Fauver. Went back to our rooms. Sleep.

Room: Tani
Wake up and realize how horrifyingly hard it is to wake Tani. Dress and breakfast. Get on the bus and Peter tells Mrs. Fredricks that he's lost his passport - april fool of course. Drive to a town and church of Amadour which is build pretty much on a verticle face. It was really nice there since it was Palm Sunday. Have lunch there and head to some underground caves. Pretty much a giant hole in the ground. It was really neat and wet. Had to descend 560 stairs and ascend same 560 stairs up. Legs hurt like hell. Head to a random village by a cliff along the river for a half hour, gossiped with EB. Headed back to the hotel where we met for dinner. Peter came in worried as fuck and turned out that Mrs. Fredricks had gotten Noland to steal Peter's passport as retribution. Had dinner and watched Michael Pahe (sp?) do magic tricks. Peter got Mrs. Fredricks a bottle of wine as a truce. Went back to the hotel and gossiped, packed, let Kiel borrow my laptop to steal the interbuts, and slept.

Room: Allison
Wake up and let Zoe, Katie, and Sarah in to forcibly wake up Tani. Pack some more, eat breakfast, and get on the bus. Went and saw the cave paintings at Lascoe and then start driving to Ourador sur Glane where the Nazis massacred a village when they were being pushed back by the allies. They had really green fields there. Arrived in Saumur in the Loire valley and had a delicious dinner at the hotel. Much gossiping and fun in EB's room that night culminated with a "Hey Jacob, that you?" from the adjacent room via windows. Sleep and South Park in German. Amazing.

Room: Allison
Wake up and head out to see delicious castles. We first stopped at Clemenceau which is a castle built upon a river with lots of stories involving the six women who left their mark upon it. EB and I spent time in the woods around there and they had the most adorable horse donkey like things. Drove to another chateau with a name starting with an A where we stopped for an hour to eat lunch. Delicious spaghetti ensued. Then went to a giant ass castle in the middle of no where called Chambourd. It was heug and had a lot, ALLOT of towers pointing forth. I mean a lot a lot. Returned to the hotel, ate dinner, waited an hour for interbuts, and practiced Girls with Jacob and Zoe. Sleep.
Wednesday April 4, 2007
Room: Zoe
Wake up, pack, ate breakfast, and waited for the drama train to arrive at the bus due to oversleeping. Headed out and began the talent show. Jacob, Zoe, and I did Girls by The Beastie Boys, Jacob as lead, Zoe as the random burly men, and myself as xylophones. We arrived at Mont Saint Michel and it was absolutely amazing. The town and the church is built upon a giant rock in the middle of a giant field of quicksand and a tide difference of over 9,000. It was cold and windy but so worth it. The whole church was breathtaking and when the remnants of Vocal Ensemble sang it was tear-jerking. We then drove to St. Malo and took a walk around the ramparts where it was really windy as well. We then all got ready for our super awesome fancy-ish dinner. James dressed like he was running for president. We had a delicious salad, ham, good cheese, and a ice cream cake with a meringue as frosting. We all were given the opportunity to get a glass of wine so EB and myself each got red and rose respectively. Jacob's table got a bottle and each person had about two glasses. I eventually found out that I am a serious lightweight and got very tipsy off of my one glass. Sleep.
Thursday April 5, 2007
Room: EB and Allison
Wake up to Peter pounding on the door telling us that we had five minutes to get down to the lobby. We hadn't gotten the wake up call. Jacob (he had stayed the night due to rooming arrangements with Doug and Peter), Zoe, and myself pack like mad and get down to the lobby in record time. Luckily for us, Jessica Weissman and Tani were incredibly sick, which meant that Zoe, Jacob, and I got to eat breakfast. Mrs. Fredricks called a doctor to check up on the two, throwing up as they were. As a result we left around 10:00, two hours later than we should've, which meant that we all had to skip lunch, Luckily though, Raymond, our wonderful and angelic bus driver made crepes for all of us on his days off. And so, we snacked out on crepes while we visited the Normandie beaches and American cemetery. Jacob tried to look for his great-grandfather but instead found out he was buried in Manilla, Philippines. Afterwards, we sped off to Giverny where we visited Monet's house and gardens (which were beautiful beyond belief). EB saw a cat there and was petting it and was then yelled at by a random worker there. Crazy French people... We then drove to Paris and it was gorgeous. We had dinner and then walked to the hotel where we said our good-byes to Raymond. He was so nice. We went up to our room, got ready for bed, and slept.
Friday April 6, 2007
Room: EB and Allison
Wake up to EB, got ready, and ate breakfast. We all met in the lobby where we found that Zoe had gotten sick as well. We went on a double decker bus and had a general tour of the city with the blinding sun. We were dropped off in front of Notre Dame where they had the crown of thorns on display for Good Friday. We all exchanged the last of our money and we set off. EB and I grabbed a crepe and headed to the Musée Rodin (Rodin Museum) where we ate lunch and admired the sculptures in the garden. After, we headed to the Musée d'Orsay where we looked at yummy Impressionism, had tea, wrote thank you letters to Julien (I still have no idea how to spell his name), and admired pretty sculptures. It was dead sexy. At about 5:45 we walked through a park and arrived at the Louvre where we were supposed to meet up. We split into two groups (one group eats first and the other molests the Louvre first). EB, Jacob, Zoe, and myself head up to eat and the prices are gynormously expensive. Luckily we had vouchers so it was alright. We went down to the boutiques and shopped for parents (I got me mum a nice expensive bottle of Eau de Toilette). We switched groups and EB, Peter, and I found ourselves left at the main courtyard of the Louvre without tickets. Luckily we were able to get in with our passports but I left mine in my bag so Peter and I went to go get it while EB went ahead. And thus, Peter and my adventure through the Louvre aka let's recognize a bunch of paintings from AP Euro began. It was awesome sauce. We all met up again and split into those who wanted to go to the river cruise and those who wanted to go back to the hotel. Zoe and I mainly stuck together and we froze together on an uninteresting boat ride and listened to terrible, terrible commentary. Exhaustion, return to the hotel, and finally sleep.

Room: EB and Allison
Wake up to EB, got ready, ate breakfast, and headed out with EB to fins a way to Versailles. 3 metro tickets and confusing directions and train closures later, we gave up and headed to the Musée Carnivallet where EB squee-ed at their Mucha room (Monsieur Fouquet's Jewelry shop designed by Mucha). Afterwards we headed for the Musée d'Orsay again to look at more of their exhibits but the line was xbox hueg. We bought crepes, waited in line, and ad lunch there (which was absolutely delicious). After looking around we decide to go back to the hotel where we could rest our bloody stumps/weary feet. We met up with everyone for dinner and went to the Eiffel Tower. Long lines, mob-ish crowd, and all for a view that, though pretty, was certainly not worth the 3 hours it took to get there in freezing Paris nighttime. We finally got back to the hotel at 1 in the morning. I took a shower and packed and went to sleep at about 2, looking forward to having to wake up at 5:30.
Sunday April 8, 2007
Room: Home~!
Wake up to my DS alarm that I set just in case we didn't receive a wake-up call (which we didn't). Got dressed in a half awake stupor and went to the lobby to consume the crummy box breakfast that the hotel prepared. Load up the bus and realize half way down the street that we're missing people. Fredricks fetches Jack, Peter, and Taylor, Jack sporting a fresh hickey from Taylor XD. Lord that child is going to be sued for sexual harassment one day. We arrive at the airport and it's fuxing cold. Wait in line and say our heartfelt good-byes to Julien. We stock up on Bueno bars and other delicious European candy that we won't see for a long, long time. We got on the plane, I slept for a bit, watch La Vie en Rose about Edith Piaf and worked on project stuff. And now, I'm finishing up this log. I'll probably do some more boring stuff on the plane and arrive at LAX 1:00 PM local time. Thus, i have conquered France.
Fin~
