[Kelmis seems innocent enough, just a black chocobo chick with adorable on his side. However, it's a clever little bird and while his owner is dead to the world, waddles out of Ceodore's bedroom to inspect the rest of the house. On finding the front door slightly ajar, it's little beak pushes through the crack. FREEDOM!

[ Lightning was just minding her own business, sitting on a low wall with her journal in her lap and a now considerably-longer leash looped over her hand. It's not until the fluffy black puppy attached to it hits the end and suddenly lets out a high-pitched bark that she notices anything amiss... and then she's on the ground immediately, reeling the highly-curious dog in before the birdlike thing approaching them gets much closer. Considering it's black, she doesn't immediately recognize it for what it is. ]

[Ceodore's so intent on catching his silly chicobo he doesn't even take notice of the barking dog or its owner. Unfortunately the bird thinks this is just a grand game and swerves out of reach just as the teenager gets close.]

C'mon, knock it off!

[Incoming chicobo and clumsy kid, Lightning!]

[ It only takes an instant to take in the (rather ridiculous, really) scene, and though Lightning doesn't really do silly things like grab wildly and miss, if it gets close enough she might be able to catch it- she's pretty quick, after all. Or... maybe she can at least distract it enough for its pursuer to catch up. She steps into their path, puppy still straining at his leash to see what's going on. ]

[Kelmis sees another person in his path and turns around to escape, running straight into Ceodore, who grabs the escape artist before he can get away.]

[Kain is somewhere in his room, taking a break to - what else- brood. Brood brood brood brood... SUDDENLY THERE IS A CHICOBO ON HIS HEAD. Kain rolls his eyes up and stares with a frown as a pair of cute little eyes look down at him.]

[Okay so this is the one place in the house Ceodore would even hesitate to follow the chocobo and that's because he'd really prefer not to walk in on something. So he actually raps on the door rather than rushing straight in.]

Hey, uh did Kelmis come in... [Peeeeeeeeers. Is he sitting ON Kain?!] ...here?

[Kain scowls up at the bird, and the turns that scowl upon Ceodore.]

[Cringe. Time to retrieve the bird... who warks loudly and seems determined to stay with Kain. Great.]

C'mon, get off him!

[Well, that's not something you see everyday. SO yeah, he's stopping to get a better look at the chicobo.]

[Ceodore comes running up behind his chicobo to try to stop him before he can do something naughty. For now the bird's just hopping up and down warking for a snack.]

Hey, sorry about him!

[Each time he tries to scoop up the bird, it hops out of reach.]

[Xigbar has no real idea what to feed a chicobo, but if he did, he might be inclined to.]

Eh, not like he's bothering me much.

[Augh! Still hopping out of being grabbed and right onto Xigbar's shoulder.]

[It's a weird thing about escaped animals running free. They tend to find kindred spirits in other escaped pets. So perhaps Ceodore will be joined today by a fellow scrambler who is suddenly rather concerned that the bird in question might be wanting a bite out of the toad hopping in its direction.]

Come back here, Trevor! We don't have time for this game today!

[Oh the chocobo is absolutely fascinated by the toad hopping around and chases it, more for fun than snack... for now. The zig zag patterns of both pets is making it hard to catch either. Ceodore however isn't amused by this game and shoots the other guy a sympathetic look.]

[Neville offers a weak smile to the other man-giving-chase.] Indeed. So sorry he's taken a liking to yours! [Or a liking to not-being-eaten by the bird, but he's trying to stay polite.]

[Kantarou is sitting at the fountain, scribbling busily in his notepad. this eternal procrastinator of an author is actually working on something! But his bout of sudden inspiration is interrupted by that, by that, what is that most HORRIBLE noise!]

[Ceodore cringes and comes chasing after the chicobo to try to shut him up. Not too successfully because the little bird is fast and evasive. And still happily warbling at the sun.]

Please control your animal! Argggh! Now I can't remember what it was I'd wanted to write!

[Yeah, he'd love to control his animal. And his hair but looks like he's having no luck on either score. Still scrambling after the chocobo, but Ceodore pauses and looks over in surprise.]
