Jaejoong
Jaejoong gazed back at the image before him and smiled.
He was satisfied with what he saw.
Leaning forward, he raised the small applicator, and with a steady hand, he applied a thin line of the black eyeliner across the top of his upper eyelid.
He leaned back, studying his work.
Satisfied once again, he capped off the tube of liquid eyeliner and set it down as he reached over and picked up another tube.
Unscrewing the top, he slowly and carefully, starting at the base of his lashes, coated his long lashes with midnight black mascara, batting his eyelashes when he was through applying the color.
Finishing this, he recapped the mascara tube. Setting it aside, he then ran his fingers over the many lip-gloss tubes that he had sitting a basket.
Deciding on the strawberry, he quickly smoothed on the gloss, coating his lips until they shined.
He pressed his lips together and released them with a pop as he replaced the top back on the gloss and tossed it in the basket.
He looked at himself once more in the mirror. His eyes were outlined in the eyeliner and mascara, making them stand out.
Yes, he wore makeup. He knew that a lot of men disliked makeup, but he wore just enough to highlight his favorite features; his eyes and lips.
To be honest he loved the look.
Boa and Seul Gi had always said that he had eyes to die for, and the mascara and liner made his big eyes sparkle.
His lips were plump and the gloss just enhanced this.
He gazed at his reflection. His cheeks were red, without the help of artificial color.
Jae shook his head. The roses in his cheeks couldn't be from Yunho's presence today. He wouldn't believe that. He was just excited about getting out.
Getting away from his worries tonight.
To be truthful, he had every intention of ringing up BoA and calling off their night out. Yunho's arrival had changed his mind.
He was going to stay in and spend his time with Seung Chu. Even now he felt guilty about going out. He knew he should stay home with his husband, spending time with him while he could. He just couldn't stand being in the same room with Yunho much longer.
His heart could hardly beat at the right pace with the man around.
"Yunho."
The man's name slipped from his tongue before he could stop it. It was being uttered in the quiet stillness of his bedroom.
Just the name brought shivers to his body.
Jaejoong glanced up at his hair, seeing a wayward strand, he lifted his hand to tuck the strand of hair back in place.
Looking to his eyes again, he raised his thumb and wiped a smear of mascara from under his eye.
He studied himself in the mirror.
He knew he wasn't like the regular guys out there. Hell, he wasn't like his brothers and they shook their heads at him sometimes.
Normal. What is normal anyways?
He knew that when others looked at him, that they saw a very feminine boy. He was never troubled by their thoughts though.
He liked who he was; A boy who liked soft colors, and who found peace in pretty things and liked surrounding himself in that beauty.
He glanced around his room. Soft baby pink with lavender and mint mixed in was evident in the whole room.
Crystal figurines lined his shelves. Unicorns, fairies, different kinds of flowers, pretty much anything that would catch his attention. His favorite being a colored crystal carousel with petite colored ponies sitting in front of his window on a small table catching the rays of sunlight like a prism.
Yes.
He, Jaejoong, a male, liked delicate pretty things. His eyes caught sight of the many candles in light floral scents sitting here and there with bowls of potpourri sitting in other odd places emitting a very faint jasmine scent into the air. He sniffed the air in appreciation, pleased with the aroma of his room and pleased with the feel of peacefulness he felt inside these four walls.
Scent. That reminded him.
Jae turned back to his dresser. Grabbing a bottle he squeezed a palm full of the fragrant cream, then he set the bottle back down.
Dipping his other hand into his palm, he thoroughly rubbed his neck down. Then dipping his fingers once more, he slid his hand under his sweater, smoothing the cream over his flat belly. Lastly, he rubbed his hands together, coating his hands, fingers, then finally a little up his forearms. He lifted his hands and cupped them around his nose, inhaling the scent deeply.
Closing his eyes, he let the scent of jasmine waft into his senses and smiled. Out of all the floral fragrances, he loved the scent of jasmine the most. It was a light scent that lasted for hours.
Sighing again, he dropped his hands, turning he glanced at his Hello Kitty clock. Frowning, he had less than thirty minutes to pick up BoA.
Quickly, he walked to the walk in closet and clicked on the light. Going over to the full-length mirror, he checked himself one last time.
In his mind, yes, he was only going out with BoA. He was NOT hoping that Yunho would happen to catch a glimpse of him before he left the house. That was NOT why he dressed with extra care this night. NOT why he kept checking and rechecking his outfit. He REFUSED to believe his hands were sweaty because he wanted to see Yunho's reaction to him dressed up.
In the back of his mind a small voice smirked at him, mocking him, 'Yeah, you just keep believing that, Jae. But I know the truth.' He shook his head, ignoring the voice and continued with his inspection.
He brushed his hand over the cashmere v-neck sweater removing any lint that may be in the gray and purple broad strips. His hands sliding down to smooth out any wrinkles in his ripped skinny jeans.
It was early spring but the evenings could still get a bit chilly.
He signed. He was ready.
His nerves decided that now was a good time to show up, and make their presence known, in the slight shaking of his hands, and the butterflies in his belly.
What's wrong with me, he thought as he descended the stairs and walked into the parlor where he knew that Seung Chu and his brothers would be resting for the evening.
Pausing at the door, he gathered up his nerve and walked in the room.
Strolling over to Seung Chu, he leaned forward and kissed him on his cheek, "I'm off now. I'll be back around ten like usual."
He watched Seung Chu shake his head, "You should stay home and get to know Yunho better, Jaejoong."
Jae let out a little laugh, "There will be plenty of time to get to know him. After all I am marrying the man." He muttered.
Jae felt the skin at the back of his neck prickle. He knew that Yunho was watching him, and could hear what he was saying.
He rose up and said goodbye to his brothers and to Yunho and his cousins.
Turning with every intention of leaving, he stopped when Seung Chu called out to him.
"Jae, you need to kiss Yunho bye as well."
Jae felt his cheeks flush as he turned quickly and looked at his husband in shock.
"B-but we're not married yet, Seung Chu. I shouldn't be kissing him yet!" Jae heard the smothered laughs of his brothers and turned to glare at them.
To him this was just to embarrassing.
He turned back to Seung Chu and saw his frown. Oh no, he thought, surely he didn't mean it...
"I've already told you, Jae, you need to treat him like you would treat me, and that includes goodbye and goodnight, and good morning kisses."
...oh, but he did.
Jae stared at his husband, his heart picking up-tempo. He feared that the others could hear the wild beating of his heart.
Slowly, he turned to Yunho, who had stood to his feet with a slight smile on his face.
He wished the floor would just open up and swallow him whole. Wished he could just vanish into thin air. This was just too much!
His feet brought him to stand in front of Yunho.
As if in a dream, he lifted himself up to his tiptoes and planted a shy kiss on Yunho's cheek.
Then not being able to stand the pull towards Yunho anymore, scared of his feelings, he turned and fled the room.
Jerking, he sat on the bench beside the door and pulled on his black flat bottom, round toed boots and tucked the legs of his jeans in and flew through the front door as fast as he could.

Yunho
Yunho watched as Jae ran from the room, and smiled. Jae was always running from him.
Lifting his hand he touched his cheek where Jae had kissed him, still feeling warm from the soft lips that had been there.
He liked that. Liked that Jae kissed him.
Jae had looked so good. Those jeans had hugged his slim hips like a second skin. The sweater made him want to cuddle the younger boy, hold him close to him and not let him go.
He looked around the room. The others had stopped laughing when Jae kissed him and was looking at each other curiously. He didn't need them to tell him, he already knew. He knew that the young boy had already fallen for him and was fighting it; he just needed to be showed that he was in love.
His grin got bigger at the thoughts of how he could court Jae.
Flowers? Candy? Movies? Long quiet walks? Romantic dinners?
The more he thought, the more the possibilities opened up to him. He knew that wooing Jae would be a task, but he was up for the challenge. Besides like Jae had said, they'd be married soon. So he had his whole life to get Jae to see that he loved him. He would spend the time to court Jae, and make the boy see and feel his love for him.
As he pondered on the courtship of a one Lee Jaejoong, a very pretty girl walked into the room.
Yunho watched as Seung Chu rose and greeted the girl with a smile and a kiss, welcoming her into the room, and making introductions.
Yunho smiled as the girl was introduced to him. Bae Seul Gi, BoA's girlfriend.
Yunho frowned, BoA's girlfriend?
Yunho knew that Jae was going out with BoA tonight. He frowned, confused.
Why was Jae on a date with a girl that was already taken? Why was Seung Chu letting Jae date period?
He listened while Seung Chu talked to Seul Gi, growing more interested when his name was mentioned.
Seung Chu was asking Seul Gi to take him to the movie theaters where Jae and BoA where going to go.
Seul Gi frowned, and told Seung Chu, that she didn't like intruding on her friend’s time with her partner.
Seung Chu insisted and Seul Gi gave in.
Yunho watched as the girl walked over to him and smiled, "So how about it. Feel like doing a little spying?"
Yunho watched the girl, "Why did you just agree? Do you know why he's asking you to do this?" Yunho questioned.
Seul Gi grinned, "No. I didn't ask. I trust Mr. Lee has his reasons. And whatever they are, they concern you. Maybe you can fill me in on the way to the movies."
Yunho signed and agreed to this crazy date that Seung Chu has set up.
While he stood to his feet, he heard Changmin asking Kibum if he would like to go to the movies also, and was shocked when Kibum blushed and nodded his head yes.
Yoochun, on the other hand, he noticed, was not having that easy of a time trying to convince Junsu to go out with him.
Junsu shook his head no.
Yunho watched as Yoochun laughed and had to wonder why the boy turning him down would make him feel so good like that.
His eyebrows lifted as Yoochun told him he could call his girlfriend up and she could come with them.
Seung Chu overheard, "Junsu, why did you tell him you had a girlfriend when you're into guys? Just go with Yoochun and be done with it."
Yunho laughed at Junsu's pout as Seung Chu spilled his secrets to Yoochun.
Yoochun leaned back and smiled, like a fat cat catching the canary.
Yunho chuckled as he watched his cousins leave with Jae's brothers heading for the same movie theatre he and Seul Gi where going to.
Yunho took Seul Gi by the arm and led her out of the room.
***
Yunho helped the girl into the car and they set off for the movies.
Seul Gi cleared her throat, "So you going to tell me what's going on?"
Yunho glanced over to his passenger and signed, wondering if Seung Chu would mind him telling her and then decided that he wouldn't.
"Seung Chu has cancer. The doctors have given him three weeks to live. Seung Chu came to me a few days ago and asked me to marry Jaejoong, after his passing, I agreed. Seung Chu wants Jae to spend more time with me before we marry and Jae's being stubborn about it. Seung Chu asked him to call tonight’s outing off, but he refused. So I guess Seung Chu wants us to go where they are and switch dates."
Yunho looked over to the girl and noticed her wet cheeks.
"OH! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have told you about Seung Chu like this." Yunho felt bad as Seul Gi wiped the tears from her cheeks.
She smiled, "No, it's ok. It's just that Seung Chu is such a good man. It's so sad what's happening to him. It feels like the man is getting cheated. He cares so much for them boys, so yeah, I can see Seung Chu doing this for Jae."
Then she laughed and Yunho glanced over to her, "I can totally see jae being hard headed about this. But one thing you should know about Jae. He may be hard headed, but he has a very soft and tender heart."
Seul Gi turned to me and said, "Break his heart, and I'll break your neck, understand?" Her face told me she wasn't kidding in any way, shape or form.
Yunho laughed, he was glad that Jae had a friend like her.
"You don't have to worry about that. I would never hurt him in any way. I have found that I already love him."
Seul Gi grinned, "Yes, Jaejoong is easy to love. I've loved him, as a friend, for a long time, and so has BoA."
Yunho turned his head looking at Seul Gi when she fell silent. She was looking at him with a question in her eyes.
Yunho turned back to driving when she smiled at him.
"Did Seung Chu tell you about Jae and BoA's friendship?"
At my 'No.' She laughed.
"It may seem strange, but there's nothing to worry about. It's purely a sister brother relationship. Same goes for Jae and I also. We love Jae, but as a family member and nothing more."
Yunho felt himself breath a sign of relief. He hadn't known what the three's relationship had been.
"So how long have you guys known Jae?"
Seul Gi tilted her head, "Since he started Culinary School. He met us in his first week there. Oh man was BoA pissed at the things people were saying about him. She didn't even know him at the time, but she stood up for him. Later she made it a point to look after him. They met and the rest, well like they say, is history. BoA is Jae's best friend, and no, before you ask, I'm not jealous. Jae invites us over to his house at least two times a week, to make up to me." Seul Gi laughed as she remembered her first time meeting the pretty boy.
"The first time I ever met Jae, I was so jealous of his beauty. But, then he told me he was married and didn't go for girls. Well, after that, I was ok with them going out once a week."
Yunho's head whipped over to her, "Once a week?"
Seul Gi nodded, "Yep, once a week. Like a 'girls' night out. I don't mind though. Sometimes I go with them and sometimes I don't."
Yunho hummed his response to that. He wasn't all that certain that he liked the idea of Jae going out with BoA once a week, friend or not. But, he'll not change it. Seung Chu's words about change and Jae running through his head.
He finally pulled into the movie parking lot and the two got out and went in.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
BoA watched Jae as Dr. Manhattan showed himself in all his blue glory. She laughed when he gasped, and lowered his head, cheeks turning red. Then just as slowly, lifted wide eyes back to the screen.
Jae shook his head, "Surely they are embellishing his attribute's a little here?" He whispered to the laughing girl beside him.
They where seated in the back row, a few seats next to them empty, even with a packed theater.
Jae felt Boa's hand on his as she patted him, "There are a few guys out there that may be that big, Jae. But, I think it's a rare sight." She smirked, yeah if your John Holms, she thought to herself.
She decided to have a little sympathy for her virgin friend and divert his attention until the scene was over.
"So how's Seung Chu?" She asked in a whisper, so not to disturb the other people watching the three-hour movie. Secretly glad that they got the early showing.
Jae took a deep breath with feelings of guilt coming again. He had hardly thought of Seung Chu. His thoughts mainly being on Yunho, and now that he saw Dr. Manhattan, his thoughts of Yunho had not been pure.
"BoA, I need to tell you something but please don't get to sad, ok."
BoA looked at me her eyes showing concern that she was feeling inside, "What? What's wrong Jae?" She whispered.
Jae looked into his friends eyes, not sure if he could handle telling her about his husband’s illness.
Taking another deep breath, "Seung Chu. He has cancer, BoA. He's dying."
BoA stared at Jae without blinking, "That's not funny Jae." She snapped.
His eyes filled with tears and then suddenly she was crying also, "Oh no Jae. I'm so sorry, honey." Jae felt her arms come around him as they cried.
Tears spent after a few moments, Jae moved away from her.
Looking down at his hands, "That's not all BoA." He lifted his eyes to hers.
"He has arranged for me to get married again. To a man named Jung Yunho. He moved in today."
BoA's mouth dropped, "Married?"
"Yes, married."
"So what does he look like?"
For some reason, Jae thought he'd get more sympathy from her than this. He pouted, to show her how hurt he was.
BoA laughed, "If Seung Chu thinks you'd be better off married, then who am I to argue with him, Jae? So tell me is he cute? Is he younger? Tell me about him!"
Jae bit hia lip as he thought of what to tell her.
"Yes, he's sexy as sin." Jae felt himself blush as he told her this.
Her eyes shined as Jae told her about his future husband.
He was telling her about going to the beach house for a while when he noticed that she was looking over his shoulder.
Jae turned, looking up and gasped.
"Yunho!"
Was he seeing things? Was Yunho actually here?
Then Jae noticed Seul Gi beside Yunho. She scooted over to him and leaned down, giving him a hug while whispering “I'm sorry, Jae. Seung Chu told me too.”
Jae nodded at her as she walked over to sit beside BoA to explain her sudden appearance.
Jae turned back to Yunho, and blushed. How long has he been standing there? Did Yunho hear what he had said about him?
Yunho took the empty seat next to him, and he felt my stomach tie up into knots again.
Shifting his eyes over to him, he saw Yunho watching the movie, and breathed out slowly.
He clutched his hands in his lap as the movie played on. Jae felt his cheeks turn red as Dr. Manhattan appeared on the screen nude again, and lowered his eyes.
Then suddenly there was a love scene, and he gasped out loud, and his head jerked towards Yunho.
Jae felt like he couldn't be any more embarrassed then he was at this moment.
Yunho was watching him with uplifted eyebrows; his lips twitching at the corners and he knew he wanted to laugh.
I
Jaejoong lowered his head once again, feeling foolish for being so shy around Yunho.
Jae got startled when he felt Yunho's hand slide into his, holding it for the duration of the movie.
Slowly his fingers curled around Yunho's, his touch sending sparks shooting up his arm.
Finally, the movie ended and we got up to leave the theatre, Yunho was still holding my hand, even after my failed attempt at trying to release my it from Yunho's.
Jae followed him out, staying behind him with his head lowered.
******
Yunho led him to his car, and helped him in.
Jae sat there with his hands in his lap. He really should have left with BoA, but she and Seul Gi had left before the credits started rolling, leaving Yunho and himself alone.
As we drove home, silence kept us company.
He was too nervous and shy to talk to Yunho, and Yunho was concentrating on his driving.
We arrived at the house and Jae immediately went upstairs to Seung Chu's room to bid him a goodnight.
Softly, he opened the door and looked inside to see him laying in bed reading a book.
Then moment he saw him, he set the book aside and beckoned him in.
Jae went over and kissed Seung Chu goodnight.
Seung Chu held him by the arm, making Jae look down at him, "How was the movie Jae?"
He looked down at his husband, "Different." He muttered to him.
Seung Chu nodded and reminded him to make sure that Yunho got his goodnight kiss.
Jae felt his body heat up again and nodded making his way out of the room.
Just as he closed the door, Yunho appeared at the top of the stairs and Jae gazed at him.
Walking slowly over to Yunho, he placed his hands on his arms and kissed him on the cheek like before, and whispered a faint, "Goodnight, Yunho."
Jae turned and entered his bedroom, closing the door softly behind him.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Yunho watched as Jae disappeared into his room, and smiled. Oh, yes this was going to be easy.
Jae was already falling for him.
Yunho reached up and touched his cheek.
Soon, very soon, he hoped that he could get the boy to kiss him somewhere besides his cheek.
With these thoughts in mind, he to turned and retired for the night.
