As promised, I've got a better pic of my tattoo (for those of you who haven't seen it yet). Damn, it still feels weird to say that: "my tattoo"
It really hasn't itched much (except for when I got a bug bite right on it!!). Plus I haven't regretted it like I thought I might. In fact, I'm actually really glad I got it. I've felt... less depressed... like a weight has been lifted off my chest. Those ppl who said "tattoos are therapeutic" are definately right about that... at least it is for me and this one.
For those of you wondering what the tattoo means ("Why a broken sword?"). Well, I did research on symbols used for tombstones when I first thought about getting a tattoo (over a year ago). I came across something that had said, in essence, that a sword represents military service and a broken sword represents a life cut short prematurely. The words "Memoria In Aeterna" are Latin for "In Forever Rememberence."
Anyway...I think that's all...Another 5 weeks for it to be considered "fully healed"... I'm sick of the goo (Aquaphor) that I have to put on it 3 times a day... I know I have to take really good care of it during those first few weeks so it will look good for, practically, the rest of my life.
PS: It looks a lot better in real life.
