Title: Seeing the Light
Pairing: KyuMin
Genre: Romance
Rating: G
Summary: When Kyuhyun meets Siwon, he thinks he found his destiny. But then he meets Sungmin.
He had worn his favorite brown coat tonight, as he doesn’t usually pass by the subway. He doesn’t need to-being one of the most famous singers didn’t entitle you a subway ride. His hair is a chestnut brown, smooth when he runs his fingers through it. His dark brown eyes glisten in the moon’s light, exemplifying his dashing features. He looks simple, yet classy and elegant.
Kyuhyun was nervous, and circumspect, especially when he roams the streets. It was because of his philosophies about his destined one.
He walks and passes beggars covered with the musk smell of rubbish and abandonment. He places his hands inside the pockets of his coat, trying to rid them of the cold and the feel of nervousness.
That’s when he spots Siwon-Choi Siwon, one of Seoul’s most famous models.
He walks towards him, the cold breeze of the night flapping against his clothes. Siwon looks up from his cellphone and smiles when he sees Kyuhyun.
Kyuhyun smiles and says, “Hi.”
Siwon grins then says, “Hello, why isn’t this Mr. Cho. I’ve heard much about you, terribly so much.”
“Like what?”
Siwon changes his stance to face Kyuhyun better and says, “Like how your voice reverberates around the fancy bar you sing in. How exquisite you look when you wear suits, and what gorgeous face you have.”
Kyuhyun doesn’t say anything, and just smiles shyly, bringing his head down to hide the light blush that was flourishing his cheeks.
Siwon chuckles and places his hand on Kyuhyun’s chin and tips his head up, “They were clearly right.”
Kyuhyun was uncharacteristically silent, and he just stares at Siwon’s depth eyes. He wasn’t used to being the one who was weak against the touch of another, it was usually him making the snide comments.
But Siwon changed that, and then he thought to himself, if this was what destiny was like.
Siwon had offered him a ride inside his limousine because Kyuhyun told him he hadn’t brought his car, reasoning he was planning to take the subway tonight.
After a few moments, when his car stopped for the red light, he held Kyuhyun’s left hand in his right then asked, “Why were you planning on using the subway when you have a luxurious car?”
“It was… out for fixing,” Kyuhyun had said as a lie. Truly Siwon would think he was pathetic if we would’ve said he wanders the subway because he thinks he’ll find his special one there.
“Oh. I thought we had the same reason. Well, I don’t think my reason failed me at any percentage,” Siwon says smiling, before releasing Kyuhyun’s hand and putting it back on the stirring wheel, fixing his sight ahead.
“What is your reason?” Kyuhyun asks, simply out of curiosity.
Siwon bites his lower lip, it was clear he was hesitant and Kyuhyun almost wanted to take his question back, because it seems Siwon was pretty bothered by it.
But then Siwon starts and says, “I don’t usually say this, but… I believe that I’ll find the right one when I stray in the subways.”
Kyuhyun gasps, then covers his mouth in slight embarrassment, his ears turn a light pink and Siwon asks if he was alright.
Kyuhyun nods and explains, “That’s what I think too.”

The rain was knocking on their windows, spreading splashes of water.
“Oh look, Won. It’s raining!” Kyuhyun exclaims, a wide grin on his face. Siwon looks neutral, and doesn’t show any sprinkle of excitement unlike Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun doesn’t glance at him and stares at the window before blindly grabbing Siwon’s wrist and pulling him outside his house, right outside the door under a thin edge of the roof.
Kyuhyun was in a dark blue shirt, and a pair of shorts and rubber shoes. His hair was messy, and he looked like a little kid. Siwon was in a white sleeveless shirt, and black jeans hugged his legs nicely.
“Can we play in the rain?” Kyuhyun asks, a broad smile pasted on his face, making his cheeks bubble themselves up on Kyuhyun’s face. Siwon found it so adorable that he couldn’t help but stare for awhile, before stuttering, “I don’t think you should go out in the rain. You’ll get sick.”
But a stubborn Kyuhyun didn’t wait for Siwon to finish his sentence and just started jumping out on his garden.
He was laughing hard and clearly enjoying himself, then Siwon hugged his waist and gently turned him around before hugging Kyuhyun right to his drenched top.
“Let’s go inside, you’ll get sick. I don’t want you to get sick,” Siwon softly says in Kyuhyun’s ear. He could feel the faint smile Kyuhyun has on his lips and Kyuhyun’s grip on his waist slackens so he could bring his head upwards.
Kyuhyun smiles, like silently telling Siwon that yes, they’ll go inside and change, but, “No.”
Kyuhyun lets go of Siwon completely then starts jumping on the grass again, enjoying the small shower he feels through his skin.
Siwon sighs deeply, and honestly, he was really weak when it came to Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun and his goofy smile and plump cheeks, his voice and the way it would sway him.
The next thing Siwon knew was that he was standing beside Kyuhyun, holding his hand in the dripping, light rain.

“Uhm, Cho Kyuhyun, are you there?” a voice calls from outside his private room. He walks over to open his white-painted door and pokes his head out, “Yes?”
He was greeted by a petite man with black eyes and striking dark hair swayed to the side.
“Hi. I’m Kim Jongwoon, the owner of the bar named Burned by Prejudice, just near here. i just wanted to inquire about something,” Jongwoon smiles gently.
“Oh sure, get inside,” Kyuhyun says, making the door squeak when he opens it wider for Jongwoon to get in.
When he’s inside, he shuts the door and sits at a plushy couch at a side of the room and taps at the space beside him to signal Jongwoon to sit down beside him.
“What was it?” Kyuhyun asks, smiling to make Jongwoon more comfortable because he seems nervous as he shifts.
Yesung smiles, unsure, “Well, I just wanted to ask if it would be okay if you’d perform at out club for it’s one year anniversary. We’d really like to have you there, it would be such an honor.”
Kyuhyun smiles and says, “Thank you very much. Have you talked to the management here if it’s alright?”
Yesung nods, “Yes, they sent me here to ask you if it was alright with you. But if you wouldn’t want to perform there, I would really understand.”
Kyuhyun smiles and shakes his head slightly, “I would really like to sing there. When’s the time and date?”
Kyuhyun eyes Jongwoon as he flusters when he opens his bag to get a few papers and three pens; then he laughs softly. When Jongwoon finally flipped to the correct page with the appropriate details, they exchanged information and Kyuhyun stood up to shake Jongwoon’s hand before he leaves. Jongwoon bows before leaving, then Kyuhyun says before Jongwoon shuts the door behind him, “I think you’re older, though!”
“Ha. Well, we’ll talk about that when you get to our bar on Saturday,” Jongwoon says and smiles, more confident than earlier and leaves Kyuhyun wondering if the nervous Jongwoon was just playing with him.

“Oh, Siwon? You won’t be coming at my house today? Oh no, it’s just fine. I’m quite busy later tonight anyway. I just wanted to ask if you’d want to visit. Next time’s fine. Okay, bye,” Kyuhyun speaks through his cellphone in a conversation with Siwon. Siwon slightly sounded nervous and fiddling, but Kyuhyun just chuckled it off before walking upstairs to his room to change clothes before performing later tonight.
Kyuhyun enters the bar. The lights were hazing quite nicely, and it was elegantly balanced. Kyuhyun thought the Jongwoon had a pretty good sense of style and design when he got this bar prepared, since it seemed up to par with his usual working place.
“Jongwoon-ssi, I’ve arrived,” Kyuhyun announces as he enters the room that’s labeled ‘Manager’.
“Oh, Kyuhyun. Come in,” Jongwoon says lightly, smiling. He dons a simple black suit, an appropriate attire for bars like this.
Kyuhyun pulls down on his suit before sitting down on one of the chairs in front of Jongwoon’s table.
“Do I… uhm, wait here?” Kyuhyun slowly asks, trying not to sound spoiled to luxury. He wasn’t really, although he was just wondering if he had to continue staring at Jongwoon while he fixes his documents before his performance is up.
Jongwoon looks up from his computer, and stops from writing his e-mail to a certain Kim Ryeowook, “Oh, there’s a waiting room ready for you over there,” he smiles and points to one of the doors on the right-side wall.
“Thank you,” Kyuhyun says and bows to proceed to the waiting room.
Before he finally closes the door he turns and asks, “Is there food here?”
“Yes, Kyuhyun-ssi. There’s food in your room, you could go get food inside the bar outside your room, or there’s a backstage buffet. You can pass to the buffet through the door in your room that’s marked green,” Jongwoon says, not looking up from his computer and not stopping from typing.
“Wow. That’s a lot of food,” Kyuhyun says, already dreaming of eating most of that.
“Do you not eat, Kyuhyun-ssi?” Jongwoon eyes Kyuhyun worriedly, and asks.
“Oh, I do. I do,” Kyuhyun chuckles lightly, “But the food at our place isn’t as much as this.”
Jongwoon smiles before looking at his monitor again, “Oh, okay. Go ahead, and uhm, eat.”
“Okay,” Kyuhyun says happily, smiling fondly before closing the door behind him.

Jongwoon knocks on his door and informs him his performance is almost up. Kyuhyun mumbles an Okay before cleaning up after what he ate and fixing his refined suit before walking to the other door at the back of the room that leads to the backstage.
“Is everyone ready?” a host asks, Kyuhyun’s been told his name was Kim Heechul.
Kim Heechul was loud and extravagant, never settling for just the normal things, his style was always to be more than just the simple normal.
“Yeah, well, you’d better be! ‘Cause I have just been told that we have a special guest that is going to perform today!”
The cheers from the audience became somewhat louder.
The lights on the stage go dim, until it’s all just plain darkness. Heechul steps off the stage and pats Kyuhyun’s shoulder softly, silently telling him to calm his nerves down since he was slightly bouncing.
Kyuhyun smiles at him, then walks up the stairs that lead to the stage platform. When he’s prepared, they cue the light on again and a single calm blue light shines on Kyuhyun, making it all just seem magical.
The man with the guitar started plucking a few strings for the introduction, then Kyuhyun started singing delicately, his notes naturally connecting themselves together making the mellow melody seem like a day in nature. The audience felt very indulged in Kyuhyun’s singing that most of them clapped even at the middle parts of the song.
Kyuhyun had his eyes closed, his visual sense was covered, he wouldn’t see anything and he just felt the music.
But then he opened his eyes, and the music just couldn’t cover for what he saw.
It was Siwon holding the hands of another man, looking into his eyes lovingly, obviously deaf to Kyuhyun’s familiar singing.
Everything stops for a moment, and it feels like Kyuhyun was the only one taking a breath of air. That one full minute where those 60 seconds felt so unbearable, his eyes staring right at them, at Siwon’s eyes who didn’t acknowledge him at all.
He drops the mic on the floor, and it rolls off the stage. Kyuhyun stopped singing, and he fled the stage, looking for comfort elsewhere.
That’s when Siwon actually notices him-when he’s already leaving.
“Wait! Kyuhyun, I-“ Kyuhyun hears him say those words, those deadly words, that Kyuhyun has always been frail to. He doesn’t like hearing Siwon beg-‘cause he just might turn back around and tell him he loves him so much.
Tears ooze out of his eyes as he runs outside, not knowing any exact destination. Tears trickle down and pull on his heartstrings.
He ends up at a simple bar somewhere around-he doesn’t actually know where. He figured he’ll just walk around later and he’ll find the way back somehow. He isn’t even sure he wants to find any way back at all. His cellphone is turned off, people will probably call him and he doesn’t want to talk to any of them.
He sits down at a table before calling up a waiter and asking for a bottle of red wine.
They serve it after a matter of minutes and Kyuhyun starts drinking-no, gulping, loads of it down his throat.
After a few… glasses, maybe bottles, Kyuhyun isn’t actually sure, his mind is swimming down in a pool of agony and confusion. There’s this small part of him making this little effort to put back his own thinking; then there’s this large amount of him not being able to fight the force of the alcohol as it seeps through his veins. Kyuhyun feels so powerless against everything, and after blindly paying, he staggers outside the bar and walks to his home.
His was walking across the road when lights flickered themselves dangerously near Kyuhyun’s sight. A flock of horns fills Kyuhyun’s ears before anything happens.
Kyuhyun laughs crudely at himself, laughing at his pathetic-ness.
So much for destiny.

The air was nice and light, flicking themselves at the ends of his hair. The morning light shines itself on Kyuhyun’s pale face, revealing the marks on his sleeping face.
He abruptly sits up, gasping. The moment had just replayed itself in his mind.
When he looks around him, he realizes he’s not at his own house. The curtains are drawn back slightly and he’s atop a simple bed. He looks down at himself and sees he’s in a hospital gown.
When he adjusts his sight, he sees a young boy with black hair swiveled to slightly cover one of his eyes. He was slumped back on a chair, sleeping, and it was clear that he needed that due rest because of the lines around his eyes.
He stares at the boy for awhile, noticing his bow-shaped lips.
The boy bounces a little then slowly opens his eyes, when he spots Kyuhyun, he stands immediately, making a short bow.
“Hi. I’m, uh, Lee Sungmin. I’m your personal nurse! Since they told me you were so important you needed a personal nurse,” the boy, Sungmin, introduces himself, placing his hands together behind his back.
“Oh, okay. Why am I here?” Kyuhyun asks, calmer then he expected.
