Title: Seeing the Light 2
Pairing: KyuMin
Genre: Romance
Rating: G
Summary: When Kyuhyun meets Siwon, he thinks he found his destiny. But then he meets Sungmin.
A/N: Yeah, I separated them again. It was twice 'That Was Our Song' okay!
“You got slightly hit by a car last night. Been brought here by one of the people who saw you. You have a few bruises on-“ a harsh knock on the door breaks Sungmin’s sentence, and Sungmin hurries to open the door and check.
After Sungmin talks to the person outside he turns to Kyuhyun and says, “Some person named Choi Siwon is waiting for you outside. Do I let him in?”
“How did he know I was here?” Kyuhyun asks, worried. He didn’t want to see Siwon yet.
“We called the first person on your speed dial.”
“Oh,” Kyuhyun murmurs, “Don’t… don’t let him in.”
“Okay,” Sungmin smiles gently and says. He closes the door after informing the person outside.
“How are you feeling?” Sungmin asks, sitting on his chair once again.
“Good. I guess. My ribs hurt though…” Kyuhyun says, patting his ribs lightly and suddenly regretting it when the pain swims through his body.
When Kyuhyun’s face contorts, Sungmin walks up to him immediately and holds his shoulder, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m good. You could go sit here if you want,” Kyuhyun says, patting the space on his bed. Sungmin takes him up on his offer, and the bed dips lightly when he sits.
“You’re going to have to stay here for awhile. Just for check-ups,” Sungmin says assuring, when Kyuhyun suddenly tenses.
They make little chit chat to make the day pass, and Sungmin serves him food when it’s eating time. Sungmin tells Kyuhyun about that one time when his best friend Ryeowook, was stalking this bar manager whom he really had a crush on. Then Sungmin adds, “They’re dating now.” And leaves Kyuhyun wondering if stalking was actually an effective way of making someone like you.
Sungmin then asks, “What about you? Tell me some stories about you.”
Kyuhyun tells him there isn’t anything fairly significant in his life, or anything interesting. He studied in school, had good grades, a few friends here and there but never anything he’d care to remember about.
“Oh,” Sungmin says, “What about Siwon? Who’s he?”
Kyuhyun doesn’t answer for a few seconds, and Sungmin knows he’s touched a sensitive spot.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me,” Sungmin says, smiling shyly.
“No. it’s okay. He used to be my boyfriend,” Kyuhyun says, gaze flipping somewhere other than Sungmin’s eyes.
“Boyfriend? Oh, so you mean, you like guys,” Sungmin says, contemplating.
“It must be bothering you-“
“Oh no, it’s alright. It’s not like I’m straight anyway,” Sungmin says, cutting Kyuhyun his sentence.
Then they both chuckle, and that’s how their days are. Sungmin comes to his room for about two weeks, talking to him, tending to his bruises.
Meeting Sungmin wasn’t anything special, there wasn’t any spark at all; just plain, white paper. No colors, at least, not yet.
“So Kyuhyun, you’re getting released today,” Sungmin says, smiling although sad. He knew he was going to miss Kyuhyun. He doesn’t actually realize that Kyuhyun’s the first person he’ll be missing as much than the others.
“Yeah,” Kyuhyun simply says, smiling comfortingly at Sungmin.
“Do you have anyone to take care of you? I mean, not many people visit you…” Sungmin mumbles, looking down.
“I actually live alone,” Kyuhyun says, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
“I’ll come there,” Sungmin says, a bit too fast.
“What?” Kyuhyun asks, not quite sure if he caught that right.
“I-I’ll come over to your house, if that’s fine. You still need to tend to your bruises… Fortunately they didn’t find any broken bones in your jelly of a body,” Sungmin says as a joke, a chuckle threatening to spill from his lips at any moment.
“Are you saying I’m fat?” Kyuhyun says, already laughing and walking closer to Sungmin as Sungmin steps back away from him.
“No. You’re just flimsy,” Sungmin says, bringing up his hands in front of him for defense.

“Here,” Kyuhyun says as Sungmin drives both of them in Kyuhyun’s car to Kyuhyun’s house.
Sungmin turns off the engine and walks out of the car to help Kyuhyun out.
When Kyuhyun opens the door to his grand house, Sungmin can’t help but gape in awe. “Wow,” Sungmin just says, looking at everything from top to bottom, even the smallest of details like the staircase designs.
“It’s not much, but I find it pretty cool,” Kyuhyun says, walking to the kitchen.
“Are you getting food again?” Sungmin asks, laughing, following Kyuhyun into the kitchen.
“Was just getting some water,” Kyuhyun says, smirking.
It was around twelve in the afternoon and it was almost time for lunch, Sungmin had volunteered to make their food because Kyuhyun was letting him inside his house.
Kyuhyun had joked, saying, I’ll kill you if that isn’t good.
Sungmin started cooking, and the smell of savor sauce filled the floor. Kyuhyun had peeked in for awhile, and had the urge to hug Sungmin from the back, unusually. Kyuhyun shakes his head and says to himself it’s not right to like someone like Sungmin because they’re friends; and of course, his philosophies.
“There, enjoy my awesomeness,” Sungmin says as he puts down the food on the long dining table.
They sit beside each other, and when Kyuhyun takes the first bite, he suddenly looks at Sungmin with wide eyes.
“What?” Sungmin asks, quite concerned.
Then Kyuhyun’s surprised face morphs into utter delight, “This is great!”
Sungmin then releases a huff of laughter and continues to eat his own food.
“I mean seriously, are you some kind of food genie?”
“What? Kyuhyun, there are no such things as genies,” Sungmin says, smile not wavering.
“Can you always cook here?” Kyuhyun asks, munching down on the food making his cheeks swell upwards, adorably.
“I guess, since I do that for my family-“
“That’s great! It’s settled, then. You’re going to stay here and cook for me!” Kyuhyun exclaims, hugging the life out of Sungmin. Actually, he just melted the heart of the boy.
Sungmin then sleeps in the guest room just next to Kyuhyun’s room. Sungmin goes to the hospital on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for work.
One day, a letter just decided to pop itself in Kyuhyun’s mailbox.
Sungmin, the person who always checks the mail and gets the newspapers from outside, gets it and reads the header: Choi Siwon; Sharp City Apartment, Apgujeong-do, Seoul
Sungmin swings the door open and it squeaks, the morning wind chases after him before he closes the door.
“Hey, Kyuhyun, you got mail,” Sungmin says uneasily, pulling the end of his yellow shirt.
Kyuhyun turns to face him, and eyes him worriedly, “Why? Who’s it from?”
Sungmin doesn’t respond and just passes the letter to Kyuhyun before deciding to leave to the back garden.
Kyuhyun looks at the envelope and sees Siwon’s name on it-oh right, he almost forgot, the bastard had hurt his heart. He was probably too busy mending it to remember who actually broke it.
He flips the envelope open, and pulls at the light blue linen paper, neatly caressed with Siwon’s writing:
Kyuhyun,
Hi. How are you doing? It’s me, Siwon. It’s been awhile we’ve talked; I wonder what you’re doing and where you’re up and about. I heard about your accident, and you may have known I have tried visiting you even more than once, but they keep telling me that I can’t visit you, because you had more check-ups to do.
Kyuhyun, I’m sorry. I know it’s a cliché line, but I’m sorry. I’m sorry because I hurt you. Don’t ever think that I’ll forget you, and I’ll always think of you as a special friend. I hope you understand that I… have found another. I hope you forgive me someday, my special friend. You are always dear and near to my heart.
Love,
Siwon
Kyuhyun lets the tears run at his cheeks, but he told himself it wasn’t supposed to be this way. He wasn’t supposed to feel so hurt, but he did-God, he loved Siwon. He loved Siwon and thought he was destiny.
Sungmin heard Kyuhyun’s light sobs and cautiously enters back to the living room, “Kyuhyun?”
Kyuhyun doesn’t respond, but it’s clear he needed some comfort.
Sungmin sits beside him on the couch, and says, “Kyuhyun, it’s alright,” while lightly touching his back.
Kyuhyun continues to sob and sniffle, making Sungmin hug him-because he’s always had this urge to protect Kyuhyun.
“Ssh. It’s okay. I’m here, I’m here and…” Sungmin stops mid-way, unsure and wary, but he uses all his strength to continue for Kyuhyun, for Kyuhyun to know he’s there.
“And, I love you,” he finishes.
Kyuhyun’s grip on him tightens, and he mumbles against Sungmin’s chest, “I love you, too.”
Kyuhyun realizes that destiny is humble and surprising. It’s when you feel it the least that matters most. Destiny had shocked him and left him unprepared. He met Sungmin in a simple way, just inside a hospital room, but meeting him was a moment that mattered the most to him. He thought Siwon was the one, Siwon was the one who could make him happy, could make him laugh without trying, Siwon was his destiny.
But no, Sungmin, had jumped in the playing field without intentions, but had won. Kyuhyun knows now that destiny isn’t planned, destiny isn’t something you follow, destiny is something that comes to you, and when you nourish it, it becomes your fate forever.
