Hmm... I was asking Jeni for a whole plot for this. But like Manuscript of Your Love, I guess I like it the way it is. I like it when they don't get together in the end. (That being said... there really is no perfect sequel for Manuscript. I apologize because I won't post one D;) Omg. I sound so mean. I mean, I like it when they get together in the end in some types of fics, but mine... hmm... they sound good broken apart.
In any case, I hope you try and read it. Although it is not as good as I'd want it to be. But, I wanted to let it out.
Also, posted because I have not finished The Story of My Life. :<

“What do you do then, Kyuhyun? When everything breaks down, when your walls fall apart, what do you do then?” Sungmin asks, his voice faint. The cold breeze of the winter night hugs around them, and they shift closer together for warmth. Sungmin doesn’t look him at his eyes; he lays his head on Kyuhyun’s shoulder, and closes his eyes. A momentary state of being calm this was, and it was fully alright to be selfish and bask in this.

“Hold on to everything you can still reach,” Kyuhyun huskily whispers back. He holds out his hand and intertwines it with Sungmin’s.

Somewhere, along the way, the little teddy bear Sungmin knew had grown up. They both knew that Sungmin was older, but sometimes it seemed that Kyuhyun was the more sensible one.

A tear rolls down Sungmin’s cheek. It was warm and his coat seemed to readily accept it; much like his heart on his despair.

“What if you can’t hold on to those you want to, Kyuhyun? What then?”

“You move on. And find something new that you know you can hold on to forever.” By then, they both knew they had silent tears running down their faces. But they don’t say anything, nor do they move.

After what seems like years of silent consolation, Sungmin unlocks his fingers from Kyuhyun’s hand and wipes his face with his other hand. He stands and turns from Kyuhyun, leaving his back to face him. He felt lost, and his pride was the least of his worries right now.

Kyuhyun follows suit, his stiff body arising from the bench.

Sungmin’s left foot shifts, hesitating. But he turns around anyway and walks to hover his face against Kyuhyun’s. His lips ghost over the other’s, which feels like a lifetime’s distance away. Those familiar lips that used to comfort him during times of hardship; those lips he’d been stupid enough to take granted for. Then he shakes his head, and laughs softly at his own pathetic thoughts. He steps back, his eyes unreadable and his fingers closed in a forceful fist.

“Goodbye Kyuhyun. Merry Christmas. And I’m sorry I left.”
