A Sad Update

Someone hacked my bank account and took all my life savings.  Almost two years of saving up money so that I can travel abroad again on my own terms, and because of one (insert every cursing combination of insults you can think of here) it's all for nothing.

Thank you, universe, for reminding me why I don't like humanity as a whole.

Isn't the bank responsible for allowing an unauthorized transaction?

Yes. And my family and I have informed them about it. But the last time this happened (it's happened 4 times to my family in the last year) it took them 2 weeks to put the money back in, and that was only an amount of 200 bucks. I won't say how much money I had saved up, but let's just say... it was a lot. I shudder to think how long it will take them this time.

I feel bad for my library patrons. They're going to have one surly librarian until all my money gets back to where it's supposed to be. I'm getting to the point where I just want to start hording my money under my mattress and leave the banks out of it.
