12th oath of moment: Gauntlet Run. Backdated over the course of this weekend

May 19, 2011 20:52

[It began, as many things do with Garviel, with an Oath. In this case an oath to keep Merem from feeding on the blood of drones for 3 days. Unlike every other oath he has made since he came to mayfield, Garviel is having a truly difficult time keeping it. Because the monster is -fast- Fast enough to outrun bullets. [As Garviel drops to his knee to rest, he may eventually become aware of an added weight on his back as if something small has climbed aboard (or maybe he doesn't notice it at all; the weight of a 90 pound kid might be pretty negligible).

Slugger, after following the armored giant for a good two hours and sensing his possible need for a "break", has found this opportunity too good to pass up. [Currently, Slugger is using said fusion pack to steady himself, unaware of what it is or its vulnerability. From where he's kneeling just behind the pack, his target's head is within good striking distance. And, so long as the man remains relatively still, Slugger will raise his warped baseball bat in both hands... and bring it down over Garviel's head.]

[Garviel straightens. Slugger just sent him home, momentarily. He's now riding a droned Garviel. Whether or not this is considered a break is up to slugger, though.]

[It is! ...Or maybe it was just a well-timed coincidence. The world may never know.

Either way, the stress Slugger had sensed earlier is gone now and he gleefully slides off of Garviel's back.]
