"Did you get it? Did you get it?"
"Yeah, yeah, hold on," Jonghyun grumbled, pushing his glasses up from where they had slipped down the bridge of his nose and squinting at the monitor. He grumbled a curse as the phone nearly slipped from where it was cradled perilously between his ear and his shoulder, and sacrificed his grip on his coffee mug to adjust the receiver.
"I'm supposed to be working on a song, you know," he informed Kibum crossly, drumming his fingers impatiently against his desk as he waited for the page to load.
"Please. If you were working on a song, you wouldn't have even picked up the phone," sniffed Kibum indignantly. Jonghyun could almost see his chin lifted haughtily into the air; proud as ever, even after five years of returning to a relatively normal life.
"I can't help it! Inspiration isn't something I can ... I don't know, pick up at the convenience store," Jonghyun defended himself, and let out a soft "Aha!" upon finding the latest unread message in his inbox.
"Well, maybe these will inspire you," Kibum sniggered.
Jonghyun's brow furrowed as he clicked the attached photo. "What are you talking a- Oh my God, you guys are so cheesy, I think I'm going to puke sugar and rainbows."
"Inspiration!" Kibum chortled gleefully.
"Are you even allowed to do this in the Louvre?" Jonghyun asked distastefully. "I'm surprised you aren't calling me from the French police station."
"Details, details. Ah, gotta go, Jinki's got the tickets for the train. We're heading to Rome next! I'll send you more pictures when we get back to the hotel!"
"Don't force yourself!" Jonghyun grumbled, but his words only reached the dial tone.
He hung up, deleted the message and that godforsaken picture, and resolved to go on a nice, long vacation after he finished this album. Maybe he could give Kibum a taste of his own medicine while he was at it, too.
