A month ago, my sister brought home the 25th anniversary edition of Mario.
Me: hey, we had this exact same game on the nintendo.
Sis: no we didn't! We had the individual ones!
Me: ...

we had two people (granted sometimes it felt as though i was carrying my sis through the worlds >_>) and we stopped at 3. (1 and 2 weren't really two player friendly) we played lost worlds after out success with 3, but er, let's just say it wasn't a success.
what made the wii version that much anger inducing?
URGH. we are currently in world 2 in wii super mario. if we ever attempt 9, you will possibly be informed by my angry, crying state.

Dude, I don't think I ever beat that one. I beat Super Mario World many times, but Mario 3? TOO HARDCORE FOR ME. I have seen someone beat it, but that person was using all the shortcuts. We also had the combined reg-Nintendo Mario games in one cartridge on Super Nintendo, and all aspects of that game were hard as hell.
Did you ever beat #2? Inquiring minds want to know what they were smoking when they made that game.

Someday I will play through #1. Today is not that day, for we must beat wii mario!
#3 is freaking...can not even verbalise. the amount of joy we had when we defeated a particularly hard round is possibly what other people might compare to euphoria. I think even if that person used all the shortcuts, they'd still need to get past world 8!! They must have played through the whole thing before... (if they haven't, the whole world is unfair and that person is a dirty lying liar)
