I just got a Keep Calm and Carry On journal today! Also, we both live in the same city and judging by your list, have been going to the same musicals! :P I buy the programs (I didn't when I saw The Lion King and I have regretted it ever since) though for Billy Elliot I bought one of those tote bags. This shirts generally are a bit much. I didn't see Dr Zhivago, but my parents did. The last thing I saw was Riverdance - I'm seeing Love Never Dies next. :D
Nice one! Journals are very pretty, but I never write in them very long :\ I'm terrible that way!
I will also be seeing Dr Zhivago! As soon as I return from my trip to America at the end of July in fact XD How are the program books? Are they pretty? My friend is obsessed with Wicked, so I splashed out and got her one of those snow globe music things of For Good for her birthday while the musical was still in town. She tells me she polishes it like, ever day XD I wasn't into musicals when Lion King was here, and I hate past!me for being such an idiot! Argh!! I only grabbed a boxing glove keychain for billy elliot, but still, GREAT. My friends want to go see Rock of the Ages as well. What about you?
also, I was creeping on your journal and clicked onto your awesome you're the voice bridge and chorus! oh my god! We should totally go do some karaoke sometime, you're amazing!
I dunno about the Zhivago one, but some are better than others. The Phantom one in particular was quite thick! And Wicked's one had lots of pictures. :) I like them as a memento of having seen the show, and I also keep my tickets.
I wasn't really into musicals either - The Lion King was the first big one I saw, and I'm SO glad I did. I was OBSESSED with The Lion King movie as a kid so I basically told my parents that I NEEDED to see this stage show and that sort of really kicked off my love of musical theatre. :D I hope it comes back! I dunno, I hadn't thought far past Love Never Dies!
Do you know, I have never ever been to karaoke. I have several friends who think that that is terrible but idk it's just never sort of happened. And thanks you! :3 That is a tough song to sing though, wow.
...I don't know why I typed in "Dr Zhivago" when I was thinking "Love Never Dies". I mean, I've seen the russian doctor already :\
It's worth it to see Zhivago because ANTHONY WARLOW. and the SETS. The sets are AMAZING. You are pretty good about keeping souvenirs! I should take a leaf out of your book, definitely. My first big one was Miss Saigon -- quite a good starting point, since a number of musicals I enjoyed more than that (but not West Side Story -- that one was not a keeper for me). I keep thinking how lucky we are to get all these big shows <3
Karaoke is very cheap, and you'd probably have a lot of fun! There's a place called kBox near Melbourne Central that you can go and sing for about 5 hours for $18, with two free drinks (the drinks are lousy, but thats besides the point). As long as you try it once, right? ;)
