Hi, i am writing from the cooking com. where you asked me about my profile! i thought i'd answer here, so as not to start unnecessary angst among our friends there
( ... )
no no no! No offense taken at all, I was interested in your comments, not upset by them in any way. Cooking was so crazy yesterday, but I wanted to hear more. =)
Everything you say about the rise of the evangelicals under Bush is quite true. I am glad he has to go in less than three years myself, and hopefully there can be some cleanup. It's scary, but the other side IS hanging in there so far. So I get what you mean. But it IS interesting to me that those outside the US see it that way. It's been a topic in the news, the rise of the right, the Christian "mandate" and all that, but I didn't know that aspect of Bush's re-election filtered outside the country as well. =)
Hi, I'd like to be added. Your comments on DamnPortlanders are more intelligent than most and we have several common interests--the biggest one being writing. I'm trying to connect with more writers in the area who are actively working toward getting published. I have fantasies about organizing a writers' group, not for doing the writing, but for support as we send our creations out into the world. Bitching and chocolate would be natural accompaniments.
I'm in my 30s, married with kids and cats, and I homeschool my sons. I've written four novels and I'm currently plowing through rewriting the one I wrote last January, NaNo-style. I also do fabric art in the form of quilting.
oh and I love your "post creation" writers group idea. It's hard to keep chuggin' alone when you've got a growing stack of rejections (or, in my case, an agent who has seemed to have given up)
