My mom is letting me borrow (unofficially) her old Canon EOS IX Lite film camera. I love my new Nikon d40, but I want to try film too. So hopefully it's not a failure.

D40 is what I have too ... the lover has a D70 is really I've noticed no difference between the two.

I went through a film thing and bought an old Nikon film camera but I have yet to use up the film in there in over a year! Oh my. This post reminds me to actually continue to use it. I've been using the manual setting for it as well ...to force myself to actually use skills instead of technology. ♥

Sorry for the typos ... I wrote this rather fast!

Cool! I think I read somewhere that the d40 kit lens fits on the old Nikon film bodies ... so do you use your lenses interchangebly?

Anyway, I've been wanting to use film for a long time, because I've heard for so long that film is better. But I don't have a lot of time for all that fun stuff like developing and post-processing, nor do I have the money for using film. So I got a d40, and love it! But I still like film, because, as you said, there's a lot of skill that goes into it (perfecting every shot, because every shot counts) that I want to develop.

Yes - they do fit the old Nikon bodies. Of course if it's too old a Nikon the automatic setting on the newer lens won't work but kept on manual it's still good to go. That is what I love most about Nikons.

One day I would love to make my own dark room and process my own film. Ah, to dream!
