So...I should be working on this month's Erik/Charles holiday fic, but...instead I wrote some completely random James/Michael fic, it seems. Well, why not?

Your dialogue is fantastic, I could tell the exact moment James got upset before Michael had even noticed. And the eavesdropping purple car was great. I've been struggling with writing scary and angsty things for the past few hours but now I'll go to bed smiling Oh, I'm glad! :D :D That was partly why this fic even exists, too--because I'd been working on the Continuation Of Doom and found myself desperately needing to write something HAPPY. So I completely sympathize about the scary things. :-/

Your dialogue is fantastic, I could tell the exact moment James got upset before Michael had even noticed. Aww, yay! *blushes* I do love writing dialogue for them. I feel like that's one of my strengths (not being immodest, just objective, hopefully?) as an author, and also they're just fun when they do all the back-and-forth! And this one for some reason felt, in my head, very much like a return to some of my earliest James/Michael fic--not sure if it's just thematic, or the length (hey, I can still write short things!), or all the dialogue, but that feeling was fun, too.

Yes, happy things are needed!! I just rewatched part of X2 for the first time since seeing XMFC and ended up BAWLING in the scene where Prof X visits Magneto in his plastic prison... the look on Charles's face when he sees Erik's bruises, the bitterness when Magneto asks if Prof X is going to rescue him, when Magneto says he told Stryker "everything"... *wibbles*... basically I'm currently rereading all the fix-it fics I know and trying to convince myself that they somehow had a happy ending. Have you ever written a fix-it with the older versions of those two?

Oh, gosh, now I'm picturing that, too! Oh...oh, and the fact that Mystique only rescues him after Charles has NOT done so...*whimpers

I felt like writing something purely fluffy and adorable, after working on some scary bits of the Continuation Of Doom! And I had started this as comment!fic for some Daily Delicious post and never finished it, because I didn't know where it was going, but...the boys evidently had ideas! And they like to talk (and sometimes fail at talking) to each other. :-p

Especially because this one is so character-focused--really just about them and their conversation (and a purple car, of course)--so it's awesome to hear that the characters stand out so vividly. :-)
