I can understand how people hating on others can get you down. I know when people hate on Cyndi for being autistic, it really hurts because she's passionate in a lot of the same things I am.
Sometimes it's better to avoid the bullies and ignore the names and whispers. Half the time people like them have no idea who we are as individuals, nor do they have any inkling as to what we go through.
I love you for who you are babe, and the people picking on this girl will realize their mistake someday.
The world is full of loathsome people. The only way to fight against that is to be a wonderful person in the face of extreme adversity.
I wish I would write a more hopeful and positive response, but I'm in the same position you are. Stuff like this angers me, depresses me, and really just reinforces my notion that humanity is as a spoiled child.
Let self-righteous people be self-righteous. I would just stay away and let them live in their own little bubbles. They're noting more than vexations to the spirit, and, frankly, at this point I couldn't care less about people like that.
Perhaps someday they'll understand. Maybe someday they'll step down from their podiums and try to imagine what life is life for someone else, and just maybe they won't be so judgmental.
It's a slim hope.
I have a lot to say about things like this, but I don't think any of it really matters because, in the end, the only person you have to answer to is yourself. And if you are happy with who you are, then nothing else matters.
