Another week has come and gone, and I have made it through relatively unscathed. I say "relatively" because while my Gryffindor/Slytherin classes went atypically well today, I spent the evening in Sirius's company, which can be as delightful as it is trying. And a workout, I might add.
We flew on Sirius's new bike - it's very nice, but still a poor shadow of its predecessor - up to a lovely little hill that overlooks Hogsmeade, and the castle beyond. The perfect venue for observing the meteors, which were falling like rain by the time we got there. We sat on a blanket, shared a bottle of red wine, and I attempted to point out the constellations to a very fidgety Sirius. Godric bless him, he did try to pay attention.
Which is why I might have indulged him in a bit of a snog - but that ended when he became too grabby too quickly, completely spoiling the moment. I don't ask for much, just a little time and a little conversation, and it's just very hard to carry on with someone who thinks about one thing and only one thing all hours of the day.
Needless to say, the mood was pretty much shot after that. Sirius scurried up the apple tree and sulked in the branches, and it was a time before he could be persuaded to come down. We flew back to the castle with him in a huff and me hanging on for dear life, and I was deposited at my tower door without so much as a peck on the cheek goodnight.
Fine by me. That stubborn prat needs to understand that he cannot have everything (that would be me) he wants when he wants it (again, me). What could have been a lovely evening for the two of us fell victim once again to Sirius's busy hands and overactive libido. I'm surrounded by enough hormonal sixteen year olds. I don't need to sleep with a man who thinks he is one.
I miss the days when we were friends, still, and we could spend time together and play, and anything else was secondary. Now the only time we can spend together in that way is during the full moon, when he runs with me as Padfoot.
And it's been ages since he's done that.
Anyway, it's very late, and I want nothing more than to get out of these robes, and go to bed. My sympathies to Severus; tomorrow is his usual outing with Sirius. That should be quite interesting, to say the least. Hope it's more successful than ours was.
Sleep, now.
