I was cooking dinner and my pager went off so I donned my turnouts in record time, snagged the keys to my roommate's van a headed off to respond to my first call. It was just a little bit of grass on a street corner. I helped put out cones and block the road while one of guys that responded with the engine used a booster line to soak the corner

My first call was in the final throes of a very boring week, a one-car rollover a little before 4am that was cancelled two miles out because they drove off without event beyond the heaving cougar in the jump seat who'd just found out that everything they tell you in training is totally wrong and motion sickness is, way, way worse when you're in the back of a moving ambulence on a call. Suriously, have you ever tried to suction yourself? o.0

Well that sounds better than my first call. Hint when you have to run back into the house to ask direction it's never a good sign.
