well now that the time expired I will let my feelings known,
I did not like the choice of word for the NYT wordle yesterday because it contained 3 vowels, Typically that word is the type of word a player might use as their starting word so for me it was a very poor choice to make as the actual word.
When I was making a rundown of strong starting words "AISLE" and yesterdays word are both considered strong start words so with it being the answer I felt extremely uninspired and not clever. A poor representation for an elitist newspaper.
AISLE is a good starting word indeed. I usually use either SEDAN or DEANS myself, as I feel those contain all the most important letters; N is very common, and having both D and S can quickly rule out various word endings. (DANES would also work but wasn't accepted as a valid word last time I checked, BTW.)
Do they choose the words by hand, BTW? I always figured that the game just used a random (new) word each day, but perhaps that isn't so.
