After years of fighting gay marriage, republican Rob Portman is now in favor of it.  People are celebrating his change of heart and how the republicans are responding to their constituents

It is possible that when he found out his son is gay he realized you don't have to be "deviant" or whatever to be gay. Maybe the issue hitting close to home really DID give him an honest change of heart. It sucks that that is what it took and he couldn't go out into the community and meet people and come to the conclusion on his own, but some people don't learn easily. It's good he changed his mind whatever it was that brought him to the conclusion. Maybe more republicans will feel comfortable showing support of equality for marriage. This country needs every little bit of support it can get to turn it around!
