What a lovely ceremony. Congratulations! When I became a British citizen, I got a form, had to go to a lawyer and swear an oath, then send the signed oath back to the Home Office. I got my certificate by return of post. Very businesslike. Now they have ceremonies.
Will you remain a dual citizen or renounce your American citizenship? I am getting closer to renouncing it, simply because it would make my life simpler.
I have to remain dual. The majority of my retirement accounts is in the U.S., so dropping that citizenship will make things extremely complicated for me once I hit 65.
Interesting. I just started to get my US Social Security (at 62 yo) and while it was a bit complicated to set up, I got all the back money I was owed and now get a regular income every month. Taxes are a pain, of course, but if I pay taxes on my income here Uncle Sam won't get much if anything as our taxes are higher here.
I have one private pension totally taken from UK jobs. That's not a problem in terms of paying out.

Good luck in any case.
