Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Yes, I did take the girls to the midnight showing, even though my oldest daughter had to be at school at 7:25am. *blush*

I don't believe the following is a spoiler, but put behind a cut anyway )

This just reminds me how much catching up I have to do! I've only read the first book and haven't seen any of the films yet! LOL

How did you like the first book? That one was alright, but the third "Prisoner of Azkaban" was my favorite book. However, it was the "Goblet of Fire" that got me hooked on Harry Potter, since that was the first book that I read of the series.

The last book comes out next week, so I am anxious to read how it all ends.

How did you like the first book?

Yeah, I liked it.

It was a bit kiddy-ish for my liking in some places and it's a bit of a departure from the kind of fanatsy stuff I'm used to reading(remember the problem I had with the wands? LOL), but I certainly liked it enough to want to know what happens next.

I've got books two and three, I just haven't got around to reading them yet. I've got loads of books to read but I'll get to them eventually!

Book two is amusing, especially Gilderoy Lockhart (who my husband chose as his persona, which is why all our HP friends and I refer to him as Gildy). Book three has Professor Lupin who is my favorite character, hence my screen name Lupin Friend. I think you will like book four better, as it is not so "kiddy-ish".

My oldest daughter was the culprit who got me hooked on Harry Potter. She read books one through three at her school's library, but pre-ordered book four so that she could read it right away. After she finished reading it for herself, she wanted me to read it to her as a bedtime story. I got so interested in it that after the girls went to sleep, I kept reading. When I finished that book, I had to get the first three to see what I had missed. We have been going to the midnight release for each new book since! LOL

Everyone on the f-list so far agrees that it's the better of the HP films. I can't wait to see it tonight and I'm glad you had a great time! *huggles*

SG and I are going to see it on Saturday. He liked Goblet Of Fire best out of the four so far, so if this one is even better, I think we'll both be happy! ;-) Looking forward to LOADS of moments that just have to be in there from the book, and from looking at the cast list on IMDB O:-)

If you are going to the movie expecting to see LOADS of moments that are from the book, you will be disappointed. There were a lot of things I thought would just have to be in the movie that weren't. If you go to the movie knowing that most everything had to be cut for time, you will be pleased with what made it in the movie. There are still a few scenes that didn't need to be there, which would have allowed for something more important, but I thought it was the best of the HP movies out so far.

Let me know what you think of the movie after you and SG see it tomorrow.

Will do, Lupey! Oooh, I'm so excited!!!

I wasn't too clear in my previous post, I meant to say that by checking the cast list on IMDB, I'm glad there's going to be a flashback as seen in the penseive of the Marauders at Hogwarts really. I'm expecting the story of 760 odd pages to be told in a concise 2 hours 20 or so, kind of how book 4 was dealt with. I didn't miss Winky or Ludo Bagman for example, and from what I've seen so far, the latest film looks very promising.

I saw a fairly detailed review item on a TV show today, with more clips than I'd seen before, and I was very impressed with what I saw. It said in the paper this morning that the plates with kitties on in Umbridge's office are in there, so it's all looking good. I like attention to detail like that!
