Jan 27, 2008 18:09

Well after going over it again and again there is simply no way I can afford to go to both Portus and New York. As much as I love Harry Potter (and I do) I have been to two Harry Potter cons in the last two year (Lumos and Phoenix Rising) and as much as I would love to go to another RENT is more important to me. So bye bye Portes, hello New York ( Read more... )

New York is wonderful!! I was there two and a half years ago and loved it!!

If you get to see more than one Broadway show... I would recommend Phantom of the Opera. It is brilliant. That is of course if you like Phantom. :-) And of course Spamalot!

Ummm to do... Times Square at 11 o'clock at night( totally awesome) Times Square at all times. The Strand bookstore. Tons of books, way cheap. It was cool. (and huge!) St. Patricks... across from the World Trade Center site.

Food stuffs... try St. Barts. Awesome potato soup and fries. It's right next to the Waldorf Astoria. (which is also a cool place...stayed there when I went)

I try to get to NYC at least twice a year. I love it. Fun things I've done:
1. chinatown..fun shopping and cool food
2. the strand bookstore...a must if you love books and they'll ship the books to your house for cheaper the the taxes that you would pay if you walked out of the store with them.
3. the Met (Opera) go to the opera house that's world famous ( just like in Moonstruck ) if you go
on some weekdays you can stand in line 2 hrs before show time and get $150 tickets for $25
4. the village...for the high end shopping (if that is your thing

I could go on and on...let me know if you want any other info.
