Fall of 1988. A young boy sits amid chattering first and second graders in the cafeteria. It is open to the halls, allowing sound to carry unhindered throughout parts of the little school building. So, one of the three occasions that a student has the opportunity to socialize with his peers is marred by old women who walk about the premises
