december icon update!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
I expect to keep making things over the holidays, but I thought I would post a few icons in a smaller batch so they're more manageable... though it still has 40-something icons. Just in case anyone wanted to use these for the bestof_icons remake challenge :) I am posting this with my newer laptop so icons all look very blurry and not as ( Read more... )

To begin with , happy holidays and year end to you and your family, may the new year be full of new hopes and promises for you.
Love the background texture work on icons 1 , 13, 16, 25, 29 ( flowery texture just goes with the fairy tale romantic vibes of the icon ) , 37, 38, 40 and 47 . The violet background enhances the slight violet tinge in Danny's hair. Lovely coloring in 34, 38 and 12 . I love it that you work with negative space in a lot of icons. Frankly looks great. Also, me a fan of vibrant coloring in your icons. They look so cheerful and spring or summer like. I prefer vibrant coloring too , well , mostly , I guess you've noticed that in my icons lol. My pick of the update would be the Rey icon . What a neat little piece.
Also, so far the two icon remade looks so pretty and it's interesting that this time you're going for closer crops , instead of the far view of the previous ones !

I guess I do work with negative background a lot! I am still trying to improve it, so I stick to the actual one sometimes :). I do that a lot when taking pics as well -- having a lot of sky and then the subject.
But thank you for your kind words! I've tried to use more unnatural coloring at times but it never looks quite right. The most I've tried was in the Nancy/Elliot hug (31) up there, lol. I love violet/purple a lot and I seldom use it.
Your vibrant coloring is so great! Def a kindred spirit in that sense :D You're much more original than I, though!
Did you mean 38? Can you post it in that bestof-icons thread so it's included in their table? I'll start working on it in the morning! btw, you're so right with the crops. I've tried to crop them differently so I don't end up making similar icons, heh. :)
