I had to laugh at this prompt, because I feel like I just finished a fic which is almost entirely made up of Luke and Reid fighting -- but then the mood struck me, and I thought it might be fun to play one more time in my "Forever Love" universe. The blond looked mildly uncomfortable for a moment. "I... The man's a lifelong friend of my mother's and he was looking for some new investment opportunities. I figured it wouldn't hurt to hear him out."

"And from what I heard, I don't even want to imagine what kind of friendship he had with your mother." The doctor gave an exaggerated shudder. "You should consider yourself lucky you don't have three dads."

The doctor turned as if to walk away from the other man, but the blond followed closely behind. "We'll be lucky if she has any kind of friendship left with him, after the way you embarrassed him like that," Tawny heard the younger man say. "God, you're such a jerk! Faith thinks you're an ass, my brother thinks you're an evil robot, and now my mom wants to murder you. At this rate, I won't have any family willing to speak to me by the time we march down the aisle!"

Forty-five minutes later, Tawny returned to the neurosurgery wing to find Dr. Oliver standing outside a patient's room, examining a chart. From a distance, the doctor looked as crisp and professional as ever, but as Tawny approached, she noted that the doctor's curly hair seemed a bit less tidy than usual, and there was a barely detectible red mark on the skin beneath his chin. The doctor's often harsh features seemed as relaxed as she'd ever seen them, and as she stepped up to his side, she heard a faint whoosh of sound and she realized the doctor was whistling under his breath. It was a startling change in a man who'd struck fear in her heart since her first day on the job, and she was struck by the sudden realization of just how handsome the man was underneath his terrifying demeanor ( ... )

Oh thank you, thank you! I love your "Forever Love" verse so much! And I didn't realize until you mentioned it that they did fight almost the entire time. It was such entertaining fighting though--it was never mean spirited and always funny as hell, just like this ficlet. Very clever to show the fight and the consequences from an outsider's point of view. I hope you revisit this verse often!

Oh, I like this a whole lot! Those nurses are so lucky to have Luke around to calm Reid down (and to make him happy too!). Love the banter within their little spat. I like to think they'd end a lot of arguments/fights like this. Hee.

I loved this. Seeing the fight from Tawny's perspective made it really interesting.

Very fun fic! Your OC was very sympathetic. I love how nonchalant the nurse is about Reid and Luke fighting in front of everyone only to disappear into the supply closet for nooky.

Yay, more in the Forever Love universe! It’s delightful to see Luke and Reid from a third party perspective. :D

Hahaha...love it when they can't keep their hands off each other. AND I love it when fighting turns them on.

I will never tire of all the scenarios that everyone around here creates for these guys!

This is great. Nurse Wed is clued in! And Tawny is too now. :)

Sh*t, I just realized that I changed the nurse's name halfway through this comment fic. Qjilla, my faithful beta, where are you? :)
