~Fun Fic Friday~

TGIF! It's the day before the weekend, and what better way to close out a long week than with a fun dose of ficlets and drabbles of Luke, Reid, or Luke & Reid? Or how about some amazing icons or graphics of the guys? (Don't be fooled by the name - Fun (Graph)Fic Friday just didn't have the same ring to it.) Here's your chance ( Read more... )

Shower me with your love

Scrubs fall on the floor. Top first, then bottoms. Followed by t-shirt and boxer briefs. Socks and shoes were already left behind in the bedroom.

Water pours down. Gently, like rain in May. The nourishing kind of rain, full of life.

Steam fills the bathroom, covering the mirror. Fortunately, so he does not have to look at himself.

He pulls the curtain aside and steps under the showerhead.

Lifitng his head, he inhales. He wipes his face, then runs a hand through his hair.

Resting his forehead against the wall, he exhales.

He knows he cannot save them all. But that does not mean he'll ever stop trying.

Head down, he lets the water run all over him. Soothe him. Sorrow runs down the drain. But it's not enough.

He feels a cold draft. Then two strong arms that encircle him. Warmth.

"Bad day?"

"Not anymore." He leans backwards. Home. He's home.

"Shall I wash your hair?"

"Mmmhmm."

Water pours down. Gently, like rain in May. The nourishing kind of rain. Full of life.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I love this. I was thinking of doing something similar, but this is perfection, so I'll just read this one again instead.

Thanks for sharing. I love the idea of Luke comforting Reid after a bad day, beause all doctors have them.

Can't you both do one? You're both excellent writers and the only thing better than one great fic is two great fic! Pretty please?

Oh wow! I'm floating right now. Hearing this from you is so so ... gahhh - I just can't find the words. Thank you so much!

But I do agree with Chloebroefan - and let's face it: there can never be too much LuRe goodness out here :)

There was meant to be a compliment for you in there as well, I'm sorry if I didn't express it very well. I really enjoyed your writing, I didn't intend to slight you, it was because I enjoyed it that I wanted to read more.

:) I was hoping/guessing it was implied, just didn't want to be too presumptuous ;) But you should have seen the smile on my face when I read "You're both excellent ... etc". I'm still having a hard time seeing myself as a writer somehow and the fact that people actually like to read these little things I write is just amazing. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

Well it's now very clear that I'm an idiot. From now on I will be sure to clearly state my love and appreciation for an authors work. I loved it...reread it several times...appreciated that you were willing to share your words...writing is hard. I understand that, I write too, but not this kind of writing, I don't think I could, mine is more technical, cause specific, and I still hate the moment when I have to give over my work and have it be judged...critiqued...all the lovely words that make my spine squirm. I do that for a paycheck, by choice, and it still kills me. I can only applaud the sheer bravery and generosity that allows yourself and all the authors on this site to share your words with us, it is truly amazing.

Now, don't be too hard on yourself - and please, not on my -insecure- behalf. I'm not always like that, it's just that English is not my mother tongue, I'm always afraid something is off with my choice of words or the verb tenses that I use. Anyway, as stated above, thank you - for reading as well as commenting :)
