Reid saw them first, one by one as they trickled in.
Dr. Barnes, a young neurologist and the newest hire to the Snyder Pavilion.
Terri, one of two head nurses from pediatrics.
Rick, Terri’s boyfriend and an X-ray technician.
Dr. Griffith, another neurologist.
Claire, Reid’s favorite nurse.
Sunday was usually Reid’s day off from the hospital, and he and Luke often went out to eat dinner after a long day of snacking, sex, and doing nothing. Tonight, they were at the Lakeview when some of Reid’s co-workers walked past Reid and Luke’s table-close enough to be noticed by the couple but not close enough for them to notice their boss’s curious stare.

“What the hell are they all doing here?”
