XBox 360 for $134

This is an amazing deal on an XBox 360. If anyone was thinking of getting one but the price was too much, you should consider this.

Shipping adds $19, but it's still a good deal. Sale ends in less than a day, though.

Is that one fully loaded -- like it go do everything -- or am I better off with the elite model?

The Elite will give you a bigger hard drive and HDMI connection. Other than that, they're pretty much the same. A bigger hard drive is nice if you download a lot of stuff. HDMI is also nice for more vivid colors and to give you 1080p. If you're not concerned with either of those, you can't beat this deal. The Elite would cost you over twice as much unless you got a used one.

Hrmm, well, I would be buying it largely to use as my DVD player and to stream netflix as much as a game console. I have no entertainment system at all at the moment! Or tv!

So there isn't even the HDMI connection?

For DVDs and streaming Netflix, this system would be just fine. DVDs and Netflix won't be in 1080p anyway. This system has component outputs, so you still get 720p and 1080i. Unless you're getting a TV over 50", you won't see a difference other than the colors may be a little more washed out than with HDMI. But if you're not used to HDMI, you won't miss it.

I read through the tech specs and had a bit of techno lust. It's tempting, but really bad timing.

^ I'm in that boat too. I will end up getting one eventually, but a place for me, Olive and Molly has to take priority. :(
