for running shoes, i suggest going to a place that evaluates how you run, then recommends the brand you need. they watch you run on a treadmill and can tell you what shoe will best support your foot. this is how i learned that for me, Nikes are very very bad. but Asics? very very good. :)(you never realize how much you use the tendon on the outside of your leg and ankle until you strain it. it's the one that helps keep you standing upright! Nike's did mine in...then i went to The Foot Zone, and they pointed me toward Asics...didn't have a problem after that.) and, you can always go there, get fitted, then order them online for less. if you're so inclined. i'm so very much NOT a runner, but found it's worth it to have good supportive shoes. much like a good supportive bra. ;)
The truth is, I don't run very often. It's mostly walking...up hills, outdoor, at the gym...
But I agree about shoes being important. With bad running shoes my feet and ankles suffer. With bad work shoes my back suffers. Our bodies are really particular.
Sadly, I was using "chubby bunny" as an example...bragging about a tradition I had no right to. My shame is complete. I can't fit very many marshmallows in my mouth :-(
really, i've discovered that I love onlineshoes.com. Good deals, reaches me in a day, easy to return for better sizes and a much bigger selection that a real world store. And they have lots of Keens too.
Yeah. I realized that when I started poking my head in stores. Damn my novelty-size features! My feet are too small...so I'll be onlining it, after all!
