The tough gets there ass to the Bank to beg for forgiveness and for another loan...

So it seems that no matter how much you avoid those Fucking ASSholes from the collection agencies, they will get you in the end. They've must of done some damn good investigating because they figured out that the owners of the restaurant own 3 other business's and ( Read more... )

i know they will say mean shit to you - and they will threaten the wage garnishing, but they actually have to take you to court for that and they won't. seriously - if they could do it, a bunch of folks you know and love (like me!) would be in that boat. They are all hot air. It's hard to believe, but if you can avoid talking to them on the phone, you can ignore them for a long long time (i've been doing it for almost 10 years now). You can pay them back when you're ready - not when they threaten you or make you cry.

You might also want to consider going into a debt management program. Try googling "Credit Counseling Canada" and you'll come up with a good non-profit organization that'll help you out.

They do a budget thinger with you and figure out how much you can afford to part with a month to pay off your debts, then they take the problem off of your hands. You give them your money and they divide it up each month amongst your creditors as they see fit. They also have the power to cut deals with your creditors to make what you owe a smaller amount, and they force the creditors to stop charging intrest on your accounts.

Also, when you're in debt management it's actually ILLEGAL for the creditors to contact you in any way.

And to top that off, your credit scores get wiped clean in 3 years as opposed to the 7 that it usually takes for you to get your rating back up to a positive. It's a real load off. You might want to consider it.

Oooooh... I have a friend who works for a collection agency and she gave me an inside scoop! Apparently if you pay them $3/year {Yeah, that's the minimum!} they can't bother you. $3 a year and they can't call or threaten or do anything because you've put in a payment. It doesnt matterhow small the payment is it is regarded legally as "effort".

Worth trying?

I've done a lot of research myself with regards to OSAP and loan repayment and collections (considering I'm in the same boat...) and it's true...threaten as they will...if you make a partial payment....they can't do shit....give 'em 40 bucks...and they'll have to sit there and EAT it...

if you wanna chat about it...I have a tonne of information about all this crap....you know where to find me...
