draped around this flesh
remembrances of skin on skin
one body replaced by another
finding solace in their touch

why are we always seeking union?
is it the reflection we see
in another?
bringing the shadows to light

when darkness overcomes
who is there to shine the light?

why are we always seeking celibacy?
is it the lack of stamina we see
in the other?
bringing the darkness over the shadows

when the absence of light overcomes
who will I shine on hot and bothered nights?
