American Cream Expiration

I got a small bottle of American Cream (it was my first ever time at Lush) in early August it's expiration date is supposed to be at the end of the month.  I have heard of the conditioners lasting past their expiration date.  I was just wondering if this is true or if I should start using it up before it goes bad.

Almost everything Lush will last past expiration. I wouldn't risk it with things like the fresh face masks, but anything else that doesn't smell or look totally off isn't going to cause problems.

That said, American Cream shouldn't expire within a month of you buying it. My current bottle (bought several weeks ago) doesn't expire until June 2013. Next time, make sure to check the expiration before you buy it and be sure bring it to someone's attention if it seems too soon so they can start sampling it out. Depending on your Lush store and whether you have the receipt, you may even be able to take it back and have them switch it since it shouldn't have been sold at all if it was that close to expiration.

Thanks:) And yeah the conditioner is already starting to smell funny like sort of sour. I'd bring it up to the store but I got in on vacation so that's not really possible. Unless do you know if I could do something like that on the website?

I'd email them with a photo of the bottle and of the receipt, and explain the situation and ask what they can do.

I'd make sure it says 2012 and not 2013. So many times I've been freaked out something from Lush is expiring so soon, only to realize it expires in 2013 haha.

That said, I will use anything that's not a fresh face mask past the expiration date, provided it doesn't smell off. my mom and I sometimes hoard the products and I've used plenty past the expiration date (especially when I worked there and got dead stock). just recently I had an ultrabland that was a few months past expiration, and I used it all up-- it worked perfectly fine, and I have very sensitive facial skin that would have immediately told me if it was bad, lol. so you're good!

Shops shouldn't keep things past a certain time. I imagine your shop sells enough American Cream that this bottle you got at the beginning of the month expires in 2013. I can't imagine a store having a bottle of a popular conditionner since last August.
