If you're like me, then surfactants may irritate your skin. The second ingredient in aromaco is sodium stearate, a common surfactant. While I'm not allergic to sodium stearate, I am allergic to sodium laurel sulfate (...which is in everything) and my allergy seems to be worse in areas that hold moisture (scalp and armpits, usually).

I'm also sensitive to witch hazel (first ingredient in aromaco)...it tends to be drying to me, and it's possible it's causing the dry skin/rash in your armpits. Then again, there is an alcohol in there as well, so yet another drying ingredient.

With things like this, it's good to experiment to see what you're allergic to. It may be that you'd like the dusting powders better.

I haven't tried Aromaco, but I have a bad reaction to Coconut. I use The Greeench and I have no problems with it at all. The Greeench works better for me than drugstore products, too. Definitely stop using anything that's bothering you, but I think you might just have to try different ones to find one that works for you. Ask for samples so you don't have to keep returning them.

If you can't find something from LUSH, there are other natural options out there.

there's so many things that it could be - I was also thinking the tea tree oil, if it was in large quantities.

I've used witch hazel before so I don't think it could be that, unless it's like you say, worse in areas that hold moisture.

I think the simplest thing is to just stop using it :(.

Any skin reaction or irritation is something you need to pay very close attention to. Discontinue use of it! Which sucks, but it's what you have to do, at least for now. Have you tried using one of the dusting powders as deodorant? What about those natural deodorants they sell in health food stores? Or perhaps theres a DIY alternative. Either way, stop using the Aromaco if it's doing that to you!

Yeah I just gave it away to my friend today. The next time I'm anywhere near a store I might ask for samples of the other products they have, and look around health food stores when I get a chance. Maybe the crystal ones would be better for me.

yeah I gave it away today. I hoped maybe it was something not the deoderant but it's the only thing it could be.

unfortunately I can't use ANY of Lush's deodorants without irritation. I ended up opting for other natural ones instead

I had a pretty bad reaction to it as well. If you're reacting to it, definitely discontinue use. I actually discovered that I was reacting to the bicarbonate. Some of their powdered deo's like Coconut just have corn starch and are a bit more gentle, if you haven't tried that. Wait a couple days before you try something new.

I could try make my own natural deoderant with bicarb in a few days and see if that affects me, thanks for you help!
