T'is the season to buy Lush, fa la la la laaaa, la la la laaaa!

Hello and happy new year Lushpeeps!  Herein is a porny little pic of my Christmas order, and some mini-reviews:

Some Party Poppers, lots of Jingle Spells, The Enchanter, Twinkler, a sample of Ginger lotion, Iced Wine, Lavender Hill Mob and Jasmine Revolution incenses, and Sikkim Girls, The Voice Of Reason, The Bug and Flower's Barrow perfumes (oh, and the little blue alligator is the remains of Crackersnap, I used it before I remembered to take a stash photo because I got too excited!).

*Party Popper:  Okay, this one is awesome.  It smells like a delicious, fizzy mango/melon cocktail and it has soapy little bits of confetti in it!  Wonderfully summery for those of us in the sticky southern hemisphere.

*Jingle Spells:  I think I've reviewed this one before, but it bears another mention because it's just that good.  It smells like an enchanted herb garden, and it's basically the best decongestant ever.  The year I worked at Lush we did product training around a table that had one of these fizzing away in a bowl of water, and it smelled absolutely incredible as well as making me feel like my lungs had expanded.  I wasn't even sick at the time, but I felt like I was breathing more deeply, and one of the other girls who had a bastard of a cold said she felt completely recovered!  I think the fennel is the magic ingredient, and I really wish this was a permanent product!

*The Enchanter:  I haven't used this yet, but it has the same yummy juicy lime scent as Cavalera and Skullduggery from the past two years.  It's like bathing in a tub full of last year's lime lip scrub :)

*Twinkler:  Smells lovely, just like American Cream, and unlike a lot of other bombs, the smell is nice and strong even in the water.  Not much colour and the sparkles aren't very obvious, but when it smells this good, who cares?

*Ginger Lotion:  Just like the perfume oil, very green and exotic.  Smells like the gardens outside a medieval tavern.

*Iced Wine:  I've reviewed this before too, but OMG WATERMELON JUICY JELLY!  That is all.

*Lavender Hill Mob/Jasmine Revolution:  I really like both of these, but to be honest, I probably won't buy them again.  They smell amazing, and each of the awesome-looking tins has two charcoal discs in it to get you started, but they're kind of pricey and loose incense is kind of a pain compared to stick incense.  I love the concepts of both of these though, and I'm glad I bought them this time.

*Perfumes:  Mark and Simon are onto some serious winners with this line!  There's nothing at all generic or ordinary about any of these scents, they're perfectly unusual and just a little off the wall in that lovely and slightly batty Lush way.  They're also very, very British.

- Sikkim Girls:  This is gorgeous.  I love tuberose, and that's the main note in this one - seductive, innocent, smoky, foreign.

- The Voice Of Reason:  Pour a dash of Smaragadine Phytofoam in with your Sonic Death Monkey, and that's what we're dealing with here.  Cigar smoke, booze, chocolate, coffee, old books, concrete, and John Lennon having a philosophical debate with Oscar Wilde.

- The Bug:  This is like the opposite to Honey I Washed The Kids.  HIWTK is one of those scents that's so yummy and comforting that wearing it makes me want to curl up and make sleepy puppy noises while I snuggle as deeply as possible into my warm bed and breathe it in forever.  The Bug is the complete flip side of that - it's jarring, disconcerting, and has that battery-scented hum of "something is not RIGHT with the world" and gives you that feeling of alertness right behind your eyes.  It's grass, pepper and wires.  I love it.

- Flower's Barrow.  Imagine wearing a lace slip from the 1940s, hiking way up on a rocky hill and eating a picnic lunch amongst the nettles.  Flowery weeds, soft berries, cold stones.  Beautiful.

So that there's it for another Christmas folks - only a small haul this time around, but that's probably a good thing considering I just bought lots of peach scented things from the Body Shop (and am planning more purchases when the new line is released in April) and ordered about $350 worth of BPAL perfumes!  I'm hoping to get my hands on the remaining six new Gorilla perfumes and that retro Starcraft cleanser in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for more of Patch's silly reviews :D

Happy Lushing!

Edit:  Okay, so I was at my local Lush this morning, and they were telling me about some of the products that are about to be discontinued - Creme Anglaise, Noubar, Vanilla Fountain, and a few others (they also hinted that the entire Emotional Brilliance range is not long for this world too - can't say I'm too disappointed though, I've got the ones I wanted and considering how rarely I wear makeup, they'll last forever anyway), and they said the reason for the discons is that there are shiny, pretty new products being introduced sometime this year.  I know the UK will get them first, so has anyone heard anything yet about what they might be?  The SAs didn't know anything for sure, but confirmed that it's not the new haircare line, and they weren't referring to the Valentine's Day, Easter or Mother's Day limited editions either (which BTW look like they will rock this year - I want the easter egg soap so badly it hurts my brain).  So now I'm all curious ... anyone?  Anything?
