Hey everyone

I know this comm's a bit dead, but I was hoping you could help me.

I want to switch from Lush's henna back to chemcial dye (the colour just doesn't look right) it'll be darker than the henna, so how long should I leave it before it's safe to dye over? It's been about a month.

I waited a month & then did a final wash using Dawn dish soap to cut any leftover henna residue. that was enough to get it all out for the chemical dye to take.

Henna should fade in a month, but it might be safer to wait an extra week or two. Check if there's any henna left in your hair; is the water clear when you rinse your hair? Does it stain any of your lighter cloths? Just to make sure, perhaps use shampoos with sea salt and/or citrus in them to strip the colour.
