wanna learn how to make this icon? Okay, I'll show you.

I tried to re-make an icon I'd made before but you can never copy a graphic exactly so it has some differences from the original. Obviously you have start off with a main image and then crop it.

Make sure you crop it evenly, then go to Image > Image Size and resize it to 100 x 100.

That's how your image should look once it's resized. Now...

The color on the image was dark and bland so I used a gradient to make it look better. Stretch the gradient across the whole image, then go to Edit > Fade gradient

I set the fade to Soft Light. This is how your image should look once you've done that. It really depends which fade you decide to use, I found Soft Light to be the best for this image.

I like having borders on my icons so I used this border brush by teh_indy I used the eyedropper tool to make sure that the color of the border is similar to a color in the image.

I don't like my borders to be too dark. I prefer it to blend a little more so I went to Edit > fade and set it to 68.

To add a bit of decoration I used a splatter brush by my_wonderful. I kept the color the same as the border, as well.

After applying the splatter brush I went to Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. I set the brightness to +4 and the contrast to +13. Then I saved the image, closed it...and re-opened it so that the next step could work properly.

At this point I used a texture brush also by teh_indy.

After applying the texture brush I used the history brush to erase anything from her face or her body. I wanted the texture only to be in the background, not all over.

Note: If your image hasn't been saved the history brush will erase more than just the texture brush. You don't want that, so it's best to save the image, close it, and open it again once all the layers have been permanently set and THEN apply the texture.

Since I'm a lazy ass and don't like to type...(I kid, i kid)..I use text brushes for my images. Actually what happens for me is that I never really like how my text looks on graphics so I go for the brushes instead. The one I used in this icon was made by ladylenne

 this is the finished product.

I hope this made sense. I'm honestly no good at explanations.
