i got a new cell phone - 813 area code (woop woop!) ... i open my phone, get it running, and the first msg i get is from a 608 number asking jose to call someone. I text them back pleasantly, letting them know i am a girl named yve, i don't know a jose and i just got this phone number. so it's not him. I get a phone call today, asking me for Jose. I tell them that this is my phone number, i just got it. there's a misunderstanding. the guy apologizes and we all go on our merry way. THIS is the text i get today (at 2:34 am), from the same number that first texted me.
"if you believe i actually would do something like that to you i want you to end it with me because you need to stop dragging me through this bs or say bye"
clearly this Jose has some problems. also, clearly this girl is a bit thick. i told her a week ago i wasn't jose. i didn't become jose in the course of a week. So! i call her and let her know that i just got this phone number like a week ago, i don't know who Jose is, that i'd tried telling her the first time. i told her it seemed important and that i hoped everything turned out alright. i had to leave a voicemail. so to be certain, i texted her. this is what i said.
"I left you a voicemail since i'm still not jose and this-all sounds important. please let me know you got it cause i don't want trouble for you or him cause of phone confusion".
she has yet to get back to me. i'd better not get any more text directed to him, i feel like i'm brought into their tempestuous reltionship. unless she's going to give me updates on what's going on, or seek my counsel, i'd prefer to be kept out of it. she hasn't gotten back to me yet, but i may check in again later because i don't want another late night text like this. I may offer my counsel in a day or two if i don't hear back.
