Mia smiled and nodded. "I did, thanks for agreeing to meet up with me," She said softly as she glanced at Tess from across the table.

She knew how busy the other woman most likely was and it it was nice of Tess to take time out of her schedule to meet up with her.

"Not a problem. I needed to get out of the office for a bit, as it was," she replied. She had work to do, yes, but that was always the case. In fact, it was looking like another late night at the office, followed by a few hours manning the Watchtower. Tess was glad for the break.

She thanked the waitress for bringing her water and the menus, taking a sip from her glass. Opening her menu, Tess glanced at the daily specials, but spoke loud enough for her companion to hear her. "You said you had some things you wanted to 'pick my brain' about..?"

Mia swallowed hard and nodded as she lifted her menu. "Yeah, I looked into a few of the places we talked about and I think I might have found one that could be a good fit for me to volunteer at and with Oliver out of town, well, I was hoping maybe you wouldn't mind looking into the place I chose?" She asked lightly.

She knew she didn't know Tess well, but she seemed nice and at the moment she was really the only person Mia knew in town.

Surprise flickered across her face before she was able to school her features into a more neutral expression. Tess wasn't sure exactly what she expected, but that hadn't been it. She lifted her eyes from today's salads and looked at the teenager across the table, studying her curiously. "Not at all. With my resources, it shouldn't be any trouble. What did you have in mind?"
