You'll be pleased to know I just established conclusively that pulling the door off my wardrobe so I can increase the size of my desk threefold is, contrary to my house-mates' bidding, a very very bad, bad idea. Doors are not desks. Desks, in much the same way, are not doors. There is a reason for this universal balance of wooden objects.
