.... One of the evils of the Internet is brokencherries the interests of whom I suggest you have a look at. And at the communities she belongs to. Not to flame, but this is ridiculous - people mutilating the Internet as a medium for communication, using it as a means to further their eating disorders? Well...I suppose communicating with other underweight idiots ( Read more... )

I think 90% of girls at one time in their life have had an unhealthy relationship with food. When I started year twelve..so from January until like...October I wouldn't eat more than one meal a day, and if I did I would only eat oranges or watermelon. But...that being said I had plenty of flubber to spare (still do) so...

What really gets me, I mean this is what I am essentially studying right now - the effects of the Internet on society and the individual. What gets me is the Internet is secret - I mean sure, your parents can check the history, but I delete my history every single day (no not because I'm looking at like...rattle-snake porn or something..just my history gets filled with 'Yahoo sophie@9thninja.net page load...' from talking to Jace and I'm slightly obsessive compulsive about it...) so who is to say they don't as well? It just..kills me to think that there are..hundreds of girls out there young, emotionally fragile and impressionable enough to listen to things like that and actually try it. Anorexia isn't a joke,it's a mental condition :/ Trying to assimilate it to lose weight because..I don't know...the 'normal' weight in your high school isn't reflective of your body is just ridiculous. I seriously don't understand why Livejournal doesn't delete things like that, I mean I understand that across the Blogosphere one blog is created every ( ... )

Dang. Look at the community info for "ana_for_dummies." It looks like a parody of anorexics, but I suspect, sadly, it's for real. I put a few things in bold below so you can hit the highlights.

-----------------------------
Learn How to BECOME ANOREXIC!

FAQ's and Rules:

Who can be anorexic?
-Any one! Its as easy as setting a goal weight, and creating a journal to log your new lifestyle choice.

Do I need to fill out any sort of application?
-No application necessary, there's enough ana here for everyone.

What's the best way to loose weight?
-Join the community for regular advice on the best ways to lose weight.

Is ana healthy?
-Although for some reason people try to find reasons to say it isn't, we find that a majority of pro-ana members in the LJcommunities such as ana_bella experience no negative side effects from their lifestyle.

So here are some basic rules for those newbies out there:

1. No trolls please. We have made this choice to starve ourselves for our own benefit, and we are fully aware of all the health benefits ( ... )

That is really, really sad. Support groups for recovering anorexics are one thing, but these poor anorexics are just encouraging each other to keep on starving themselves and sharing tips to keep their parents and doctors from noticing it. *sigh*

we are fully aware of all the health benefits we will now reap on our journey to looking more like Mary Kate Olsen or even better--the ultimate goal--Britney Spears.

Wow okay. Yeah.

I ♥ my fat.

It keeps me warm.

What really gets me about those bits is Britney has never been anorexic? I mean Mary-Kate, twirp that she is, is skinny as a bloody a-sexual-incestual-twin-rake.
But Britney? That's MUSCLE. That's hours at the gym. They're...idiotic :/

I loves my fat as well. Though..I have enough fat to keep a couple of people warm :/ So :/
