I'm still alive!

Oct 05, 2010 11:09

I'm in the uni's library right now and have no idea if I'm allowed to do anything other than check my mails, so this will be short. I arrived save, everything is awesome (except the mosquitoes, I look like I have the plague or something) and new, longer entries will hopefully follow in the next few days ( Read more... )

rl, mpl in the promised land

OMG!!! *already worried* I'M SO GLAD TO HEAR ALL IS FINE *squiiiiiiiiiish*

Lack of internet is terrible ._. I know that kind of feeling, but okay, if you get some soon, it should be fine ^^ (btw. I'm very sure you can use the library internet for whatever you want as long as you don't block it for forever or do really weird things xD).

GO BUY MOSQUITO REPELLANT! Or give me your address and I send you some bottles of what saved me in Msia o.o didn't know they still have mosquitos there >_< And it's srz bznz because they can leave life-long scars!! D:

...and go watch Ohoku x'D
Much love!! <333

i'm sorryyyy D: annika and me bought an international phone card together (3000yen=30 minutes), but of course we called our families first, so... >__<
yeah, i sneaked a peek at some other people's monitors and everybody seemed to be doing private stuff XD. so now i'm merrily doing lj stuff and have both icqToGo and msnToGo running *hint hint*
OMG would you do that? *_____* I'd buy some myself but, but if you have stuff that's definitely effective, then it would be awesome if i could save the money... X"D which you will get back of course... next month. X"""D

Okay, I got some bottles for you and also some of the magic anti-itch stuff from Singapore that served me well for 22 years and 5 months.
I'll also write down for you which ingredient in mosquito repellent is the working one (because, sorry, but all that "natural" stuff is only good for one thing: draining your wallet and giving the gnats a good sniff!) so you can later on go to a pharmacy and ask for it.

Because I need to send a box up to 2kg anyway, please tell me quickly what else you need (hairtreatment for curls or whatever x'D) and I'll send it off tomorrow afternoon so it'll arrive... early next week or something! o.o

i'm ok! classes begin today, i'm looking forward to them a lot! it's been a lot of running around and getting paperwork done until now, now we really get to settle in. ^^
as you can see above, blayingeternity is sending me stuff! *___* But if that oil of yours is from Japan, i'd be glad for any recommendations. i can't rely on people to send me stuff all the time, i have to make do with what i have available, right? X"D

I have been traveling to tropical countries regularly ever since my childhood and my experience is that people tend to rely on the "natural" stuff for whatever reason (by recommendation, ecological sense etc.) and that it simply doesn't work.
Sine my mother's a doctor and my father a chemist my family had a slightly different approach to this topic and we tried our way through all kinds of chemical repellents. The easiest-to-get ingredient in Germany at the moment is Icaridin / Picaridin / Hepidanin (INN / 1-(1-Methylpropoxycarbonyl)- 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidin)... and the repellent should contain at least 20% of it, for example Autan Plus or DM's S-quito free. Even better if there's alcohol in it too.
There might be better (=stronger) stuff, but this hasn't failed me or my friends so far (^-^)v
