I want to be Samuel L Jackson when I grow up.

Dare I ask why?

Only because it's an even farther cry than me wanting to be John Barrowman when I grow up.

Plus... I really didn't see you as the type to like Samuel L Jackson. Thought he was a bit too action adventury. But then, I suppose I hardly know you anymore.

what, and Star Wars isn't action adventury?

it's because he's funny. He's in silly action movies where he wears a kilt and/or says "motherfucker" a lot, but he also has good roles in serious movies too.

I practically didn't know who he was until Sio randomly dragged me out to see Snakes on a Plane, and then it seems he's been cropping up everywhere. Weird.

Its sci fi adventury. That's different. I can't stand action movies that aren't sci fi, for the most part, but I like action in my sci fi just fine. I don't know how its different, it just is.

He's always been everywhere, you just didn't notice. Sorta like when you learn a new word and suddenly it seems like its everywhere. I heard that scientifically explained once. But I don't remember.

I never did see Snakes on a Plane. I will probably rent it on DVD. It didn't seem worth the ten bucks for the theater to see a movie just cause it was called Snakes on a Plane.

but the movie is so much BETTER when you experience it in a theater. I'm not sure that it'll hold its own if you see it at home... it's more about the communal cult-film experience. It's still a fun movie, though. You'll like it. (There are a few brief gross-out moments, just close your eyes.)
