i applied for a job at buca di beppo's in gaithersburg when i was like 16. needless to say, i didn't get the job. chinatown dc is wack, as is fear & self-loathing in college. you are not going to grow old alone.. i know others our age who espouse this belief, and i do not believe it, because everyone i deign to talk to is GREAT??!

basically. apparently our professor was talking to my friend who's in the class and she was like, "yeah, i don't know how i'm going to teach them to stop hating images of black women." it's like... how do you move on to the part where you're learning about the specific ways that you (or whoever) has been oppressed if you're not even at the point where you can recognize that that oppression exists..?..
that class just makes me kind of sad.
