:"My "myths and archetypes" class is so amazing. It's taught by my love, Harold Schecter. What a great name =) GOD I love that man!!! So yea, there's an archetype called "the shadow" that exists in literature. And it exists in soo many stories that go back thousands of years, because subconsciously, humans know that it is a real thing. Simply put, it's all of the dark, twisted, violent things inside of you that you hardly even realize exist. They are so terrible and hidden, that you can't face them (like remember when luke chops off darth vader's head in that cave and when the mask blows off, it's really him? thats an example of the shadow
