There was a police man, a fireman, a doctor, and a... something else on the screen, and I had to give two of them "something they'd normally have in their hands". Yeah, that was more or less my impression at PAX. Coming up with stuff was fun. Trying to move the dude around at all was a serious pain in the ass.

Come on. Use those shoulder buttons for something! They'd make a great toggle between "use D-Pad to move guy" and "use D-Pad to move screen".

The upshot of using the stylus as much as possible (thinking from a dev standpoint) is that it'll increase ease of portability. Scribblenauts would work well on just about any touch platform. I'd bet an iPhone port has been in the works for awhile now.

I dunno- clumsy as the controls can be, I've always found that games that force me to switch between the D-pad and stylus are really obnoxious.

Personally, I'd be satisfied if the dude had better pathfinding and maybe there were a 'hold position' option, but that's just me.

The action aren't as fun as the puzzle, but I'm definitely enjoying both. I'm through worlds 1-3 now.

I love that I can pick it up and play when I have 5 minutes and still make progress.
