"No One Ever Died from Pushups"

This is Trainer's motto. I swear she comes up with news ways to torture her clients every single minute of the day. Working out with her has been great, personally i don't see a drop in weight, but i keep getting told by random students/clients that i look awesome. Hey, i'll shut my mouth and take that compliment anyday.

It's been almost a month ( Read more... )

Trainer has me doing ab pulls now with a push up added in when the legs are straight. We are building up my core strength so i can eventually do the pikes if my hip is being a good girl. one of hte biggest goals we are working towards (besides health, fit, and losing weight) is to get into scorpin pose for yoga without the use of the wall. which means lots of core and arm strength.

hip routines are the most requested in my classes. core work is second, with balance trailing far far behind. it's rare when someone requests balance...and it's usually from the one person who struggles with it the most in class.

that albany article is sad. i wonder if the applicants had to take a stress test with their physicals before they got to the physcial part of the test. i think my brother had to do it for both when he was a cop and when he started firefighter training.

i tell my students do that all the time! yup and while in the grocery store. it's a great way to help practice balance. one of my favorite students also does it while brushing her teeth. of course it is a lot easier to balance with a shoe/sneakers on. barefoot is harder, on a bosu or one of those wabble boards or inflatable disk makes it even harder.
