The rules vary depending on the league and age group; but usually, when overtime doesn't settle the game and it goes to PK's, it works as follows:

Each team gets 5 pk's. You can only use players that were on the field when the final whistle blew.
If after each team has shot 5 pk's, there is still a tie, you go into "sudden death" pk's. If the first team scores on it's first try, the second team must score, or it loses. If the first team does not score, and the second does score, the second team wins. And it cycles like that until you have a winner. Once you have used up all your field players, then you can start using your subs. :)

If you learn it's different out there - I'd love to hear about it. It's interesting the different rules that have come about since I quit playing college ball. :)

Sounds like it was an awesome game, and even without prep for the pk's, you're team pulled it out. Says a lot about you as a coach!

NICE WORK and CONGRATULATIONS! :)
