So, my dad will definitely need hernia surgery, sooner rather than later. He's seeing his cardiologist tomorrow to discuss it. He needs to be off the blood thinners for 5 days before he can have the surgery. It's an outpatient procedure, takes about an hour. They sew in a piece of mesh to block the hole, basically. It's a short recovery period
