A couple of things I forgot about Seattle:
1) When driving around, we passed a store called "Designed Dinners". Obviously a place that will cater on a small scale for people too busy to do their own cooking. But when I first glanced, I thought it said "Designated Diners". Which is what the world needs really: "Man, I'm hungry but I'm too busy to eat, I'll get my designated diner to do it instead!"
2) When at Pike Place Market, I found an import store that had a box of the ever elusive Kinder Merendo. Those of you who have seen my Kinder collection understand the attraction. Merendo is the "summer Kinder egg". Instead of the chocolate egg which is prone to melting, it's an egg-shaped cup that has a pool of white chocolate with a couple of hazelnut/chocolate balls "floating" in it. The other half has the toy. Together, it's like a Kinder Bueno Surprise!
Yesterday was a lazy day in San Francisco. Hung out with Lexi and Tori and watched Studio 60 on the Tivo. Wandered around Market St some and saw the kittens that the SF SPCA has on display at Macy's (pictures later). Ate a crepe, had some gelato.
And then at night, BNL! Front row, just off center from Steve. They didn't let us stand at the barrier, which meant I really got to dance crazy for Upside Down. But they did let a pile of little kids come up and stand front and center. I thought that was really sweet. Steve ended up tossing them a pile of picks. More picks than he usually gives out in a week!
owlmoose got Bank Job and Maybe You're Right. Sadly, no sticks this time. They just didn't have them, and I didn't get a chance to ask anyone who really would know. Hope they at least have them in L.A.
After the show,
owlmoose's husband picked us up and I went home to crash. Because it's just now 6am and i've been on a train for the last 1/2 hour. Heading down to Los Angeles for work today. Vacation is over, temporarily. Because tonight is BNL at Universal with
i_iambe. Whee!
